Oh my goodness. The plot thickens. I can't wait to read how you make your way through this. How fascinating.

I can't help thinking that while you're there couldn't you go check out some other stuff like find out who Jack the Ripper was and find out the mystery behind the Mona Lisa painting. Oh wouldn't it be fun to have a camera with you to take pictures of the people and show people in the present time what they really looked like? I find some of the old paintings are distorted.

No spag to report that I noticed.

You talk about my imagination, LOL! Perhaps I could write a futuristic book, that way Veronica can hide a camera and when she leaps forward she could pick it up and take some pictures of what it would be like in a hundred years time. Hmm! You are so good going back and reading them all like this. It must have taken you a while. Thank you, Joy. I do really appreciate all of these reviews. Big hugs again. :) Sandra xxx

Am I allowed to write WTF?
What has Lady Gwendolyne given birth to?
Sounding like Rosemary's Baby here!

Now I'm intrigued... should the baby be held, or held under water until the bubbles stop coming up?

Suppose I'll have to stay tuned in!

Ah! This is a spooky story. The poor woman is dying in bed and her maid brings in her son to say farewell. The husband calls the child a freak and runs fearfully from the room.
Indeed, what a shock! ...
Instead of the lovely baby blue eyes I'd expected to see ... I was staring into two piercing red orbs....
I am looking forward to reading more.

Hi Sandra, great chapter! The description of the bars on the windows reminds of the movie, 'Flowers in the Attic'. Clearly, we find out at the end of the chapter why the child is locked in the attic. I didn't expect that!

What a lovely surprise to wake up to, Melissa, thank you so much for the wonderful review and the shiny 6 stars!
I read 'Flowers in the Attic', years ago, and the sequel. It's not a story you could forget, it was really sad. Biggest hugs, my friend! :) Sandra xx

Aww, thank you so much, Rebecca, for those lovely 6 stars!! And the lovely review. What a lovely friend you are!! I haven't seen you for a while, how is your children's book coming along? I hope you are still working on it, you have a really good idea there, one that children will enjoy. Big hugs, my friend, and thanks again! : Sandra xxx

OH thank you for your encouragement with my children's book. Yes, still 'working' slowly. We've been so busy with my husbands project that we are gone a lot. But I"m hoping to put up a new chapter before we leave again on Tuesday for a week. UGH. Makes writing hard being on the go...I"m glad you like my book. It's encouraging!

Wow, Sandra, this is a fantastic chapter. Yes, what indeed is going on. Your imagery and imagination is wonderful and I hope the continuation will appear. Only regret I got is that I don't have a six for you. It's wonderfully written. What a story. Please hurry with what's next. A hug. Ulla xxxx

Hi Ulla, thank you, my friend, for this lovely review. The next part won't be long, I'm working on it now!! When will Sally be back?? LOL I want to see her out of prison! :) Sandra xx
reply by Ulla on 16-Jul-2017
I'm glad to hear that. It's such a fascinating story and concept. Sally is back fairly soon. I've just released a new chapter to 'The Forgotten Valley'. I thought this one and two privious ones were too connected to split up for any lenght of time. xxx

-Another good chapter, Sandra.
-We see what Ver. observes and thinks:
the sadness over the young boy and his mother,
and the same characteristics of this Sir John,
as in later ones.
-L.Gwendolyne is concerned about her son after
she is gone because Sir John doesn't understand.
-As Ver. observes the scene, she sees the boy's face
for the first time: "I was staring into two piercing red orbs."
-You certainly give us an ending with a huge twist.
-Exactly who is this boy, and why does he have these eyes?
-What is it that caused Darveth's father to disappear after he saw the boy?
-You give us a great mystery at the end!

Thank you, my dear Pam, for this brilliant review! Veronica has a lot to sort out this time. You've asked loads of excellent questions, but, I'll have to wait until Veronica lets me know what she finds out before I can answer them! LOL. I do hope you can wait for a bit longer. Thank you, my wonderful friend, for the six stars, you know how much I appreciate your reviews, the stars are the bonus. More big hugs and lots of love! :) Sandra xxx

You are very welcome for the review and stars, Sandra. I am glad that you liked the questions, and I guess Ver. does have a lot of work to do, but she manages to do a good job! I am patient and will wait to see what she encounters and reveals next!

Hello Sandra,
Are you sure her name was Gwendolyne. I was certain this was Rosemary's baby.
"It doesn't matter what your child looks like. When they're yours, they are the most beautiful children in the world!" Nice little bit of foreshadowing.
I think maybe you stared at the Vesuvius red lava a little too long. lol
This is another fine chapter with excellent description and development of the story line.
You do like those surprise endings, like the old serial novels.
I'm surprised you spilled the red-eye beans so early.
But, all-in-all, this was really well done, my friend.
Six Red Stars, like the planet Mars

Rosemary's baby!!! LOL, Robert, you watch too much television, you did know that film was fiction, didn't you???? Now this story is ...
I loved the reference to the Vesuvius lava, lol, you really are a fun person. I had to 'spill the beans' as it leads on to what Mildred thinks up. Not that I know what she thinks up, mind you, you know what she's like, keeps things close to her chest. :))

Thank you so much, Robert, for another lovely review, and all the red eyed stars!! (And the giggle!) Big hugs, my friend. Sandra xxx

Thank you so very much, Barbara! That is such a lovely review. I'm delighted you enjoyed this part and liked how the last hook panned out. Veronica has her work cut out trying to get to the bottom of what's happening here and with Daveth's father. Fun times ahead! Big hugs, my friend, for the lovely 6 stars, too!! :) Sandra xxx

Nicely done, Sandra. I enjoyed this part of the story. I've missed the first parts of this story, but I will get around to reading them one of these days. Poor Frances, shunned by his own father for being an albino.

Is this the same Sir John from the last book?

Take care,
Russell

Thank you so much for reading this part, Russell. No, Veronica has been sent back to 1846, this is the grandfather of the Sir John in the first book! I love complicating things!! LOL. It soon becomes obvious though. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xx
