The first one... definitely the first one!! ;) Had to change it up -- been through horses and spiders and now octopi... hoping the legs aren't doubling every time... lol!! ;) Yvette

I would draw up enough air to fuel my flight away from that sucker. You se when I see something as unexpected as that I do not hang around trying to figure out what's going on. I get the hell away and contemplate from a safer distance what might have been going on, check the news to see or something like that. That is why few guys like me ever become victims.

Uh, that's a poser, Bill. I think if I saw a red Octopus on the street corner, I'd likely run, or at the very least cross the street. So I wouldn't draw a card at all, but I'd likely find a nice bistro whilst on the other side.

This is fun. So what is the correct answer, or is there one? Eight of hearts or diamonds?

Gloria

The traffic crossing the street would be tortoise shell to tortoise shell. The bistro would be out of business due to flood damage. When you woke from this dream, likely the effect of questionable sushi, you would discover you'd had an accident. The card would have been the eight of----clubs. So close.

I'm going to give this riddle a try to solve: None--octopi don't have hands and to my knowledge, there are no red octopi unless they are cooked. Still--I do like your clever little piece. Marilyn

You should probably also mention that they are seldom found with cards, let alone offering them to others on a street corner. That said, I'd take the "Get out of Jail Free" card.

The Ace of Spades. Now wasn't that simple?

well, I'm going to risk the chance that you'll make me feel stupid, but would you care to explain? I don't get it.

This is another very well written poem about the octopus. This one was read and held some cards. You used very good wording and very good imagery. I enjoyed it. Teri

Very well written and intriguing. I would draw the Joker. This is a clever write that is subject to many different personal interpretations. Love the "octopus", a complex metaphor that can represent many things. It is what I think of when/ I think of the complex nature of the world's complex economic system.

I'd pick the sticking out the farthest, hoping it's a gift card.

You've posed a puzzler here. I would imagine you'll get all kinds of answers. LOL

The octopus might think you'd pick the one nearest to you. However, taking the idea of playing "cards" to the idea of gift cards, makes the choice simpler. Starbucks.

Maybe so, but I wouldn't to play cards with him. He's equipped for cheating. 8-)

Hi Bill; thank you for sharing your pranka about the Red Octopus. I really don't think I'd be drawing any card - I'd be getting the heck out of there! Well done,

~patty~

But, if you didn't run away, what card would you choose?
reply by Mustang Patty on 12-Jul-2017
the queen of hearts - for sure

That makes you an optimist and more likely to correct a situation than merely condemn it. You may be a liberal or moderate and the eldest. Hold in your family. How'd I do?
reply by Mustang Patty on 12-Jul-2017
hmmm. Well, I am the oldest in the nuclear family of my hubby, kids and I. I tend to be an optimist most of the time, but I can get caught up in the mire. Definitely a liberal.

I should read cards for a living.
