In my opinion, a distinctive write about an unusual premise, in cleverly stylish rhyme, a bit uneven in a couple of spots, but it does not detract from the the issue or delivery of the poem...

I have had a beard for something like 40 years, my wife likes it, so it stays, I don't old men with beards get a favourable hearing in society, but whatever, I still intend to keep it. Beautifully written articulate and expressive, in ballad style 8696 quatrains and abcb rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy

Again you hit a nerve with the simple way that you tell a humorous story with rhyme and self deprecation--I truly believe every man over fifty goes through this shame or criticism while trying to grow that handsome beard-alas so few are successful. Thanks again for the laugh!

HELLO JAYBIRD: I have been wearing a full beard for years now because I like it. Long ago when I first let it began to grow people asked me. "Why are you wearing a beard?" I got tired of being asked that question. I began answering it like this: "Well...when I woke up this morning...it was there. So I left it be. Hey...I like my mane." Like this poem - your rhyme is smooth. And why not a beard. WEll, within reason - keep is tidy I guess. My husband grew one once and it came in RED. That stopped him right there. I imagine men get so tired of shaving.

Well, Jay... I wish I could tell you... :) Some like it, some don't. Nobody does if it doesn't look good. Does your friend have a beard that only grows in, in strange places and looks all moth-eaten? Uck! LOL Time to shave for sure! LOL, I've had boyfriends who let it grow in the winter and shave it off in the summer, they always hate that growing in part though... they say it's itchy!
