This is an amusing tale from a friend's perspective, of a facial hair
experiment. The poem flows well and uses strong imagery like, 'disgrace' and 'female furor' to accentuate his plight. The last line is perfect, as it sums up his biggest question. "What's wrong with facial hair?"
I really enjoyed this poem. It made me smile:)
I need to add...The title is intriguing and begs the reader to read this!

Lol, I can relate some as my hair grows quite quickly too. I like this poem and the humour you always manage to spill out in your work which makes it unique and creative. I appreciate your sentiment and fun within this piece. A beard I think can look okay but generally, it seems more professional to shave in our work society, but long ago they might bed to differ. An entertaining read. Best,

Wonderful! Kinda makes me think of Willie Nelson. Lol I especially liked " I told jim he should shave it off, the time has come to do it. He still resists, he just can't bring his face and razor to it" Well said!

This brings to mind my partner who goes through so many phases with his facial hair (he's a Gemini - say no more groooan lol). Sometimes he wants to grow both his hair and his goatee and ends up looking like an unloved bagman. Then he decides to cut all his hair off and come out looking like a pinhead!! Facial hair ... indeed, what is it with facial hair? I dunno, but when my boy is shaved and hair cut, I can see his face I guess!!!

Loved your poem, and I'm sure many other men would relate to it!

This is a well rhymed, humorous verse I can relate to.
I grew a beard after graduating high school, still have it.
Some woman like it, some don't.
Nice writing!

This poem, Bearded But Bewildered, finds the man in modern dispute of growing face hair. It's noted for being a sign of laziness, or maturity. Often hated by wives, but honored by associates. Superman, of course, never had one, although Moses did.

Hello Jaybird, this is very well written and also amusing. It made me smile. Actually, as much as I do not much like beards, I say live and let live! As long as I don't have to kiss him - but there-again it depends on the man LOL! Well rhymed poem with good rhyme and meter. Warm wishes Dorothy

Funny how our appearance can act like our security blanket. Or something to hide behind. I had long hair for half of my life, the first cut to my shoulders was a devastating time in my life. But I overcame that, sounds as if you have too. And we learn to relax as we get older. Great penning for this interesting tale.

Your poem is well-written and, to me, amusing in its approach to how important appearance is and how people make such a thing of it. The
element of conversation with self is very effective.
