Really enjoyed this beautiful poem in tribute to nurses, which flowed effortlessly,
lovely rhythm and rhyme throughout with some wonderful heartfelt lines within.
I particularly enjoyed the last stanza which completed this excellent poem tremendously well.

Hooray for nurses! Yes, it takes real dedication to be a nurse and it takes strength! Perhaps with the increase of male nurses, the hat disappeared? Great meter and rhyme and story well told!

Thank you for reading and then taking the time to review, I really appreciate your kind words and comments. I remember one of the first male students who was a bit of a character and wanted his moment of glory at his graduation ceremony and insisted on receiving his cap which he proudly wore during the ceremony. lol

Must respect the nurses who wore these hats. Some still do. They take much unnecessary crap from doctors who think they can save the world. Well done. Hope you win.

As a nurse, I applaud your poem. I was the last graduating class that had the nurse's cap. I wish the nurse's cap remained a tradition. Excellent poem that captures the heart of my profession.

I miss hats. They were a statement in many ways...time for church...time for shopping...time for gardening, or time for service. I remember how proud my mother's friend when she completed nursing school and was capped and pinned. I suppose the new scrubs and casual hospital wear are more comfortable but those starched uniforms, hats and white hose sure had class. Thinks for bring back fone memories.

YES a timely reminder of how society and its mores are changing so fast where work status is often difficult to determine 'caps or hats are now gone away ' nice visual

I enjoyed reading your poem "The Nurses Hat". It rhymed well and you chose a very appropriate picture. Just one quire, in line three verse three - I am not sure if it is carry or carries. You may wish to review this. Just a suggestion, especially as you have stays in the next line.
Best of luck in the contest

I think this poem tells volumes about the status of the hat, but, moreover the character of the person wearing it. It was a universal symbol of help and compassion, since those wearing it had to pass many tests to be able to offer aid. Nurses are special people and should be held in great esteem.

A very well-written poem.the nurse's hat was always important in the past. These days it is only the uniform that tells they are hospital staff. The hats gave the final touch to appearance.
