Bernie and Howie have a conversation that focuses on trying to get treats from the Mistress and how the two came to live together. As always, so cute. There are a couple of misspelled words, but I assume they are intentional. I enjoyed reading your cute story. Marilyn

Hi Marilyn; thank you so much for the lovely review of this piece. Yes, the misspelled words are an indication of Bernie's poor diction and grammar.

Hi Patty. I thought that may be the case, but wasn't sure. Sometimes the autospeller takes over.

Well, if dogs could talk to one another, I guess this is exactly right. I can just imagine them having a conversation just like this one.
I like dogs too. And yes, they love treats!

haha Patty, sounds just like 2 siblings would talk to one another. I enjoyed your story. The picture is really cute, too. I would never have thought to enter this in a dialogue only contest, but it works. Who says dogs can't talk? Mine does all the time & my kitties. You have a fun story. Best wishes in the contest. Jan

They sound just like two siblings. I wonder if Max and Willow (my cats)ever have a conversation like that. My kids did. One thing for sure, they all agree on the treats.

Hi Cindy; I'm reasonably sure your cats have their own dialogues. I had cats for years, and I usually had two at a time. I know they plotted things - I could tell.

Thank you for your lovely review,

Loved this. Still need to make up some stories (with some truth in em) about my animals I had a long time ago. No spags and an enjoyable read. Wishing you well in the contest.

Magnificent, delightful, humorous, and beautifully delivered with brilliant "humanization" of the puppies! I sincerely enjoyed this very much and cannot suggest anything to improve this work! Please keep the dialogs coming! HIS GRAYNESS: Vance

They are different aren't they Patty. On thing that strikes me, you possibly like dogs more than people, heh heh. But then, there's always that safety in knowing their lovely, sort of predictable natures, although all are unique and different, they are easier to love than people. Bernie and Howie's adventures and discussions are always a treat, well done, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; you may be right on this - I really do like dogs more than people (with the exception of my hubby and kids,) and I have a great deal of joy writing pieces like this one. Thank you so much for your time to read and review,

hehe its funny Patty I will be totally candid with you. I don't usually read short stories on Fanstory that often unless the first paragraph gets me in. What got me in was the photo because I have a shi tzu cross Maltese at home named Gary and my son's cavoodle visits him every day and I always wondered if they could actually speak what they were thinking. The scene is this dialogue seems so familiar to out house. When I am hours on the computer Gary would just patiently sit at my feet and wait for me to finish. They all know key words and react accordingly words like walkie, shops, the beach. I love the mannerisms of a pet they are nearly human.

Hi dip; thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I'm glad the picture drew you in and the words made you review. Howie does look like a shi tzu Maltese rather than a Pekeatese - his dad was Maltese and his mom was a Pekingnese. I had so much fun putting this piece together - I'm glad you enjoyed it,
