The antics of these two is very entertaining.

How knows what escapades they may encounter next.

Should make an interesting entry into this contest.

Ok, I see! It looks like dogs are having conversations. I thought that to be brilliant. Thank you so much for sharing. Please continue writing stories. Have a splendid day and good luck on the contest.

hi; thank you for reading this bit of fun. I needed to come up with a conversation for the 'dialogue only' contest, and having my dogs talk sprang to mind. Thank you for the lovely review,

Patty: great chatter with the dogs. I like that screen thing. The dogs watch
while they desire treats. Yes, dogs love treats. I have three dogs. I think the only dog vs both dogs sleeping with the master and misses is funny. I'm sure you cuddle your dogs. Does your hubby get one dog or do you get both? Have a great Fourth. flylikeaneagle

Hi there; thank you so much for reading and the lovely review. I think the dogs spend equal time with us - they go absolutely crazy when my husband get homes from work - and then they are all over him. But, I get quite special time with them, and I always spend some time with each as I brush them,

Thanks for sharing this story, Patty.

In reading it, I could not help but chuckle. It got me thinking about my dogs and I can only imagine the conversation these two might have.

But, one thing for sure. They both love to go the fenced in backyard and play every morning. And two, I swear the largest of the two, Spock, thinks with his stomach. :-) JW

thank you so much for this whimsical review of this piece. It was so much fun to write. I wonder what your two dogs would say if they could talk...sounds like Spock would ask for treats!

He would. Spock is a lot like the Charles Dickens character, Oliver Twist, when he finished what they gave him for lunch and he returns - asking for more. JW

Lovely story featuring Bernie and Howie.
I think they are both adorable I love the way you used dialogue to give them both a distinct personality. But it's for sure they have one thing in common. They love their treats.
Great writing!
Michael

Hi Michael; thank you so much for the lovely review. I thought it was about time I gave 'voice' to the boys.

    I'm glad you enjoyed it,

Within the confines of the contest, good and cute. My problem, I don't do cute. I gave it a four and then considered what it was, you know, a contest thing, gave it a five. Hope I'm not being too cute in my review.

Thank you for not giving it a four because 'you don't do cute.' The review of the writing should be for the writing. Did I meet the requirements of the proper grammar? Is the writing clear and concise?

Judging something by the subject matter isn't the thing to do here - people do. I don't.

I appreciate your reconsidering the four. Your reviewing criteria isn't what I consider fair. If I were to review based on subject matter, or the opinion expressed, or whether I found the material boring - I would have a lot of angry writers.

Hi Patty, great job on the dialogue only for the writing contest. I like the part where they are talking about each other's teeth. Good humor and fun in this!

That "thing" where you wave your paws in the air is called "begging", I do believe, Patty. Our five doggies have the art of begging down to a science.
Why, we're all such suckers that all they really gotta do is look at us a certain way and our food becomes their food.
It's hard to resist or ignore those big, mournful eyes.
And boy...do they know it!

Cute story. Best of luck to you in the contest.
If it's still going on, that is...

Hi Dean; thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. I think spoiling our dogs is a national past time.

The contest is still going on, and I hope it gets the attention of the Contest Committee simply because its different - who ever heard of talking dogs? Well, besides me.

Well, most of the writers of Walt Disney have heard of talking dogs, and Pixar, lol.
    You're welcome just the same.
I hope your luck is much better than mine is with the esteemed "Committee".
    Take care, and good luck!

Pretty sure the 'Committee' doesn't like me. But then again, I've heard from other writers that they are peculiar in what they do find worthy,

Some of us could write the next great literary piece to rival E.A. Poe's The Raven and it wouldn't matter in the slightest, Patty. We would still be ignored.

I like the content, flow of dialogue and structure of the story. Very descriptive and creative. I can see the two dog pets having this conversation as their mistress work on the screen thingy.
