I think you are on to something, Sandra. However, I have a somewhat similar view as yours but with a subtle difference. I can be myself better than someone else. I learned this lesson while attempting to be accepted for who I was not. Sadly, the responses were disastrous. I have more success at being who I am than trying to copy someone else. I may not get the attention, nor be viewed as an impostor either.

Never be anyone other than yourself, my friend. You are just fine as you are. Why would you want to be different? I value your friendship on here. Do what you do best, and what you know best, you will get some really positive responses. But first, just be you. Thank you for reading my take on the Picture This challenge, have you thought of having a go and joining the group? It's all taken in fun. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra xxxx

This is the second poem I have read for this challenge. I really enjoyed reading it. Even your author's notes made me smile. Part of our science curriculum in first grade is to teacher the different animal classification. My first graders refuse to believe that humans are mammals. I wonder what they would do if I tried to tell them humans are also apes?

You must let me know if you tell them, LOL that would really upset them. Thank you so much for another lovely review, my friend. I really appreciate you reading my work. :) Sandra xx

A clever commentary, Sandra.
Even better that you took the role of the orang.
'Of all the apes in all the world, she had to walk into my bar'--a rewrite of Casablanca.
Given all the turmoil over 'identity' in this turbulent world,
your hat poem should provide some much needed perspective.
Peace, Lee

Yes, the world is in chaos, another car attack in London last night. It seems every weekend there is some lunatic out for his perverted kicks. :(

You did a great job with the 'picture this' writing prompt. You have given the Orangutan a voice and an attitude. I'm sure she revels in all of the attention and the power she perceives the hat is capable of. Well done and thank you for sharing,
