I have been marked down for those damn As they are a site fault! wonderful poem i only ever give a four to the direst poems, but never for grammar or spelling. i like to make the person feel encouraged, althouh i skip if the poem is just awful. After all its subjective. Great poem well done xxmeia

It is all too often that reviewers feel they need to mark a piece down because they simply do not like the subject matter. It is a sad commentary on life - you are exactly right - they should simply hit 'skip.'

It is all too often that reviewers feel they need to mark a piece down because they simply do not like the subject matter. It is a sad commentary on life - you are exactly right - they should simply hit 'skip.'

Thanks patty so many of like mind have commented on this. Makes one feel justified in bringing all this up. Had 29 reviews to look at this morning and I thought they were all gonna be for this latest poem hehe. A new friend took the time to go through a lot of the poems in this book without reward which really gave me a buzz. Sorry the Index is out of whack I have to fix it as I moved stuff to fit this nre powm in.

The thing is and you say it yourself here in the author's notes, that people give 5s for everything. You don't like to mark down for spags and so on but that's a huge part of writing. If there are a lot then the piece cannot be classed as excellent and needing no revisions which is the criteria set down. to not do so and then rant how others don't apply it doesn't make sense to me... lol
Just because you use lower scores doesn't mean you aren't helping people. having said that, you are right to pull people up about content. If it is purely that they don't like it and have no constructive reason for that then it becomes pointless.

Thanks friend. I appreciate you coming along. I know you are one of the top award winners in here so a lot must really enjoy your work. I think a lot has to do with the personality of the reviewer as well. Some can be downright mean. Thanks again.
