I agree. Unless I have something very offensive in
front of me I will score a five and then offer as much
advice as I can. But nothing lower. I get several in the
year that are lower and it's usually from a "newbie." I
remind them to read the rules of reviewing. -Bill

Yes Bill, good idea. Glad you picked up what I said about the rules changing...well in the eyes of some ha. Appreciate you coming by, mate. I have sometimes accidentally given a four but if I get reminded I will certainly go back and fix it.Think I read something from your better half recently. Cheers.

I have been give a 4 a few times because the reviewer said he or she just couldn't get into the story (chapter 40 or something) though the reviewer had never read any previous chapters. It seems to run in clusters, these meaningless reviews. It's always good to point it out.

Yeah Sis someone suggested we should mute these types. Might go back and do just that. The good thing is we have all our regular good guys n gals that compensate. Had a good friend came in and reviewed a heap of this book without reward. I thought they were all for this new poem when I saw 29 reviews initially!😁 Thanks for the understanding review.

Bit taken up with my sweety in Hospital just now. I still have more loose ends to tie up as to printing up all my Fs pages for filing. I want to try self-publishing. I need to make up the photo pages yet as well.

Hi Sankey. I agree with your little rant. Newbies tend to rate low, but it isn't only newbies who give 4's or less. Some, who think they are the greatest thing since Shakespeare, also give low ratings. It takes several 5's to get rid of lower ratings. Eventually, giving 4's or less will get the reviewer muted. I allow for a reviewer to give a 4 twice--after that I mute them. Like you, I only give 5's and make suggestions if I feel I can help. Otherwise, I skip the piece entirely. Marilyn

Thanks, Marilyn. I appreciate the wonderful understanding and like-minded review. Good idea about the muting. I have been caught a few times Muting a bit soon, hehe. I came in on 29 reviews the other morning and I thought they were all for this poem. A new FS friend had kindly taken the tie to go through all the chapters in this book and review the poems, rewardless, which I found very touching. Hence a lot of the 29 reviews, hehe.The Index is messed up as I wanted to move things around to fit this new one in. Will get to that later. Still visiting my wife in hospital so limited time.

Thanks Bro appreciate your review. This was born out of frustration with some very recent reviews. When I fired up this morning there wad 29 reviews and I thought they were all for this recent poem. A lovely recent new friend had taken the trouble to review almost all my poems in this collection for zFREE which was nice. The index needs fixing as I moved stuff around a bit to fit this new poem in.

The rules are very clear about how to review. You cannot deduct for content, only for quality. If you don't like the story/essay/or whatever you cannot deduct a star. But they do it anyway. I agree, this is something that should be monitored more. Due and Review rhyme in the Northern Hemisphere...you are too concerned with the differences in Australian and US English. We know there is a difference between British, Australian, and New Zealand English. The heck with those that don't.

The rules are very clear about how to review. You cannot deduct for content, only for quality. If you don't like the story/essay/or whatever you cannot deduct a star. But they do it anyway. I then try to point out what they did and I tell them that if they make the changes I will go and up their star ranking. We're here to learn and grow. Just because someone doesn't stand on your side of whatever you're writing about isn't a good reason to knock stars off. I will put in there that I don't agree but I do not think you need to knock stars off. I've also been knocked down because I don't rhyme. Trust me, you don't want me rhyming. It always turns into something bad. lol Great job
