This poem is a fun story to read! It provoked a vivid imagery of the story as it evolved from a face-down to a concert of nature. It is a beautiful piece with good 10-syllable count throughout and nice rhyming! Good work, Sandra.

What a lovely poem about encounters Sandra, yes, there is a connection, almost a familiarity, or at least can be, between man and beast, an ancient understanding. (What a marvellous theme for a book!) beautifully written, as the artist you are my friend, a marvellous gift, being able to put words to the deep, almost misunderstood things. A lovely sonnet, well done, blessings, Roy

Bless your heart, Roy, thank you so much for those lovely words. A book? Hmmm, now there's a thought!!! I think wolves are lovely, they only attack if they feel their family is threatened. Just like us. Thank you, my dear friend. Big hugs. :) Sandra xx

This was absolutely priceless Sandra. Your words captured the initial fear of the standoff as well as the man's knowledge of the potential danger to his life. It was surprising but very wise that he chose to sing/ hum. I sometimes think it is a universal language. And of course the wolf responded and then departed. It had a wonderful intense flow and a great rhyme. Superbly done my friend, very enjoyable, thanks.

I love this poem. It is a mesmerizing work. I did visit a wold preserve in Colorado a couple of years back and it was incredible. At the end I heard 27 wolves howl at once. My kids when on the night tour to hear that at midnight. I stay at camp! LOL Great job. Fun. Bruce.

I don't blame you at all! LOL, I would have stayed there too. I can also understand your kids going off to listen, that must have been an incredible experience. I love wolves, they are real family packs, and love and protect their own. Thank you so much for the amazing 6 stars, Bruce, I really appreciate your enjoying my poem that much, :) Sandra xx

Very well done, Sandra. There was a time about 20 years ago when I would go into one of the last patches of forest in my neighborhood so I could pray in peace. Naturally, the "critters" would keep their distance from me. I would stand still and pray silently. Yet, there was a number of times when I would finish the prayer, open my eyes, and see a raccoon, or even deer nearby. It seems they don't mind people around as long as the person is still and keeps his mouth shut.

How wonderful to be able to do that with God's creatures standing near. I don't think you could get closer to God in this life if you tried! Thank you so much for sharing your story with me, and for reading mine. Bless you! :) Sandra xxx

Wolves are fascinating creatures. The name alone is enough to stir the imagination. Their appearance is both mesmerising and frightening. You write about them well.

This is possible poetic reason about how we got the idiom "Music tames the savage beast. This artwork shows a proud wolf looking back towards the man who saved himself from being prey.
Keep writing
