Hi Sandra.

You've penned another wonderful story in this short tale.

Your words have a melodic touch in the story for the man and wolf.

I read through it twice and both times came away with more.

Nicely done. John

You tell a very enjoyable and original story in this poem and you tell it very well.
While I was reading, I felt as if I was there with the man and the wolf. I felt the tension and the subsequent calm.
I wish I had six stars, but I've used them up.

Hi Sandra; they say that music soothes the savage beast, and this poem is a testament to the fact. It was wonderful of the man to think of humming some soothing music - it probably saved his life.

Thank you for sharing this well penned poem,

~patty~

You know I love your poetry, Sandra, and this was yet another winner. Your perfect rhyme and meter makes every poem a pleasure to read, especially when they create such wonderful images in your head as the story emerges.
Sadly, I'm out of sixes, but this soooo deserves one!

I loved this, Sandra - something a little different that drew me in - the flow to the words, and to both rhythm and rhyme were perfect - I love the wolf - such a proud beast.

So, softly now, he hummed a soothing tune[,]
that stirred the air between them with a sigh. - suggest you lose the comma to make it a smooth run-on sentence

I'm glad to have a six for you - so deserved.

Margaret

There now. This is a perfect example of why I became a fan and get such a smile when I see your name in my message box. Beyond the perfect rhyme and meter, the story is told with a 'mesmerizing' build, as suits the action (inaction?) which moves from a potential disaster to a satisfying close. I can't help but wish we all would sing to each other more often - although I do know some people who, if they tried to 'sing' the wolf down, would have been ripped to shreds for the offense to its ears. Well done - Wendy

Thank you so much, Wendy, for this lovely review. Poetry is my first love and especially story/poems. I write a lot of those. I'm delighted you enjoyed this one, I love wolves, I think they are majestic and mysterious. Everyone has picked up on the 'mesmerising' lol, it's the way we spell it in the UK, that's why I added that in the author's notes. I wonder why we have these differences. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra xxx

A mesmerizing tale, had me holding my breath! Very nice poem flows well and tells an interesting and imaginative story. Excellent choice of artwork. I don't see anything that needs to be corrected.

Wow! This was wonderfully told! I love the tension built and the creative strategy to calm the beast through song and the very surprising musical response. I especially liked "an ancient wisdom came into his eyes" which prepared us for the change in the encounter.

What a marvelous and surreal experience. It could have turned so frightening and yet the eerie mood turns out to be a fantastic exchange between man and wolf. Wonderful storytelling.
