After reading, I find this to be a great poem.
I especially like: 'It would be a dagger to my heart,
if I looked at pain in your eyes,
and know I was the reason.'- This reminds me of the way I feel about my son who suffers from autism. I am his number one fan on everything. If he falls, I'll surely fall.
My favorite part: 'You take me for all my failures,
and celebrate my success.'- I can only think of the Lord Jesus Christ. He accepts me for who I am just the way I am. If I make it to Heaven, He'll say, 'Well done.'

Excellent

Letting someone down who is counting on you is just one type of failure, Anonymous Poet.
However, it is one of the worst kind of failures one can experience.
Good free verse.
Let's hope it is not a failure in the booth.
