Excellent

I'm compelled to wonder whether to take this story
literally, or read it symbolically.
An all-night starlit vigil appeals to me,
but I'm of the same mind if this night was metaphorical.

There is indeed something very spiritual about spending a beautiful "velvet indigo" night alone with Him and a night bird "secure on a distant hill." You PUT ME THERE with you and I enjoyed the experience vicariously.
