Lol! (Last line was particularly humorous.) What an interesting collection of cat facts. I even heard of a cat who pressed a fast dial number on his owner's cell phone when the owner passed out. You don't need to convince me. I like cats, too.

Thanks for reading and commenting. I didn't know a lot of these facts myself until I did some research. I always knew cats were smart, I just didn't know HOW smart. LOL

thank you for sharing your well researched essay about cats and all of the wonderful things they have contributed to humans' lives. I love cats and dogs. I only have dogs right now, but I do miss the purring and the head bumps. Give your kitties a hug for me.
Good luck in the contest,
~patty~

I wasn't sure I was going to read this as my cat, Cashew, of thirteen years, died just yesterday from causes unknown. However, I did read it and found it interesting, humorous, and most informative. It was also nit free and that's a plus also.

Thanks for reading and commenting as well as the six stars. I'm so sorry about the loss of Cashew. It is like losing a member of the family.

As a fellow cat lover, this was right up my alley! I love how you weaved your personal experience and research together. I had no idea that cats used to be hunted down and killed and that contributed to the bubonic plague! The research on how smart cats are also fascinated me. The only suggestion I have is to make a few of your paragraph transitions a little smoother. I loved it!

Thanks for reading and commenting. It is alway great to find another cat person. I will see what I can do about some of the transitions.

We have loved and owned many cats over the years, (or rather owned us) along with encumbent hairy dogs, our place was a veritable "fur farm" just as well we weren't allergic to fur. There are similar cat stories to yours, they
Also slept with us, my wife dreamt she Was being smothered by them, woke up to find them festooned around her neck! Well done, beautifully written, blessings, Roy Typo hissed (at) and spat viciously. And ?

Your collection of facts about cats is quite interesting. I could never "own" a furry pet for a variety of reasons, but I do "get along with" them when visiting friends who have one or more. One cat of my acquaintance liked to chase the spot of light cast on the floor, a wall, or even the ceiling by a flashlight, and became quite adept at anticipating the location of its next appearance if it temporarily vanished. I enjoyed your post.

Thanks for reading and the great review. Cats are very smart but try not to let us know it.

As a bonafide cat person and owner, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this non-fiction work, which was very well-written (absent of any noticeable SPAG's).

Although I have own cats for decades, via this post, I learned information about cats that I was unaware -- for instance, people who own cats were put to death, the data cats stored in their brains.

Interesting read, to say the least. I hope it does well in the contest.

Thanks for reading and your great review. Cats are cool and don't want humans to know how smart they really are. Like I said, I wouldn't have lasted long back in those days. LOL
