Awe, Sandra, this is so beautiful and so true what you say. Why oh why didn't we say it in time. Our life passes by so quick and then one day it's too late. Wonderful written poem. I wish I had a six left for you, because it would've been yours. A hug. Ulla xxx

Yes, time is a twister. An ulcer. A nag. An unforgiving stenographer.
But it's also a comforter. A haven. A jubilee. A moonlight dance.

Time marks our mistakes. Time preserves our precious.

Fish live in water--good and bad. We live in time--good and bad.

I enjoyed your rumination. You lay it on the line. You don't shy from your regrets.
I don't think our lives would be guiltless no matter how tries we got.
Perhaps being human is more about dealing with guilt than avoiding it.

Well done.

Peace, Lee

Thank you so much, Lee, for the wonderful 6 stars!!! I'm so glad you liked it, and more, understood what I was saying. I do have many regrets but to dwell on them would take up what time I have left, so, I only allow them to surface once in a while. You are right, it is being human, and I defy anyone to say they haven't done something they regret. Big hugs, my dear friend. :) Sandra. xx

That's a tough one. Changing one thing would change another, wouldn't it? I couldn't turn and run at first sight of my ex husband and keep the kids. But I'm sure I could find plenty of things to change.

That is the problem, isn't it. Change one thing and it could alter the things you don't want to change. Thank you, Cindy, for your lovely, thoughtful review. :) Sandra xx

This was so well done Sandra, I think all of us have on more than one occasion had the same wish but have not worded it as eloquently as you have. It was perfect, the words so appropriate, good rhyme, easy to read and grasp. Well done, thanks.

Thank you so much, my dear friend. There are always going to be those regrets, that's human nature, but there are many more things that we would actually like to live a second, even third time over. I'm glad you like it, Alie, thank you. :) Sandra xx

This is a beautiful poem about time and life. Alas, I have no 6 stars left to hand out--this poem is worth one. Your words sum up so much about life and living with all of its regrets and joys.

A sixteen liner that works rather like a sonnet with a distinct "turn" as we enter the final quatrain. Prior to that the poet is mostly regretful bof things done that cannot be undone or said that cannot be unsaid. All that is a concventional enough approach to the unmitigating passage of time. The final quatrain though honours the good times that she would not wish to change.

Thank you, Jim, for your lovely comments. It's funny, but when I think of all the things I'd like to change, the things that I would live to re-live actually outweigh them. Big hugs, my friend. :) Sandra x
