He is my buddy,
At my feet or in my bed,
He shows me his love.

Oh, how I envey you your dogs --- I have to share my son's two - as their grandmother, of course.

Short and sweet.

Margaret

Hi Margaret; thank you for your time to read. Howie and Bernie are the best; I'm sorry you don't have dogs in your life - but as you know, they can cause difficulties with traveling.

This is a very interesting piece. It is obvious that a great deal of love exists but words were not wasted, it gets straight to the point, your buddy loves you but the underlying message is that you love him too. Good job & good luck.

Howie is a wonderful little dog. He follows me everywhere and insists on being snuggled next to me - no matter where I'm sitting. Thank you for seeing the underlying message; I DO love him a great deal,

I believe I may have said this to you once before, Patty but I feel it's worth repeating.
There's a very good reason that D-O-G spells God in reverse.
Dogs are known as "man's best friend."
I think that God, in His infinite wisdom, tailor made the dog for us.
If only our human friends could be half as loyal, caring, and attentive as our canine friends are, how much more wonderful a place would our world be in which to live?

Good morning, Dean; you are so right. If more people were like dogs, I might be willing to hang out with them, too.
I appreciate your continuing support of my writing,

Now if you could just get your husband to do the same. Just kidding. I'm sure your husband does his best. Whenever my wife asks for a kiss I give her what I call a puppy dog kiss, and lick her face. She doesn't ask very often.

Oh Thomas. You know, my husband will lick me once in awhile; he tells me that I should be used to getting licked on the face. I always tell him Bernie just licked me in the exact same spot.

Hi Patty,

This is a sweet little piece. Dogs are wonderful things, so much better than cats. There's no deviousness about them. It's all there to see.

All the best

Hi G; thank you so much for dropping by to review this little poem. I needed to appease Howie; his nose was out of joint about the poem about Leo.

    I appreciate your comments,

Howie looks like quite a character. He's obviously established his place in your heart as well as at your feet and in your bed! I have a buddy called Howie who has a dog called Dog!

Wow - a dog called 'dog.' Thank you so much for the lovely review for Howie's poem. He demanded equal time when I posted the poem about Leo. (Leo has been gone since 2012!)

A very well-written 5-7-5 about your beloved buddy, or Howie who is always busy showing his love for you either at your feet or on your bed. A definite love you can be sure of.

Good morning, Patty

Yes, there is much to say about how soothing a dog's unconditional love can be. I read once that everyday is Christmas to a dog, Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,

Ray

A great 5/7/5 Patty, I'm close to this theme, during the days when many pets owned us we had four dogs and numerous cats inhabiting our beds with us, and for a season both our daughters also, well done, great picture of a spoilt animal, great piece, blessings, Roy
