Excellent

The iambic heptameter queen rides again! This is a great meter for your stories and this one is so sad and inconclusive. "When rain obscures the light" is a lovely self explanatory line that somes up the desolation of the city streerts on a wet day and the desperate lonliness one can feel in the midst of a busy metropolis.

I live alone, isolated in the middle of the country and people often ask me whether i get lonely. My answer is no, not half as lonely as I have felt at times when I lived in the city where everyone kept themselves to themselves, surrounding themselves with a barrier of indifference in their desperate search for privacy.

This poem stirrs up all those emotions.

What a lovely review, Jim, thank you. I've lived in the country, born in the country, and lived in the city. I was more alone surrounded by people than ever I was in my home in the countryside. There is a calming feel when you live with nature, and I wouldn't want to live in the town ever again. I'm so pleased you liked this, you're right, the heptameter is perfect for a story poem. Thanks again, my friend. :) Sandra xx
