Thanks jo, for the great review and stars. I wrote this and released it in the sixties sung by Sena Fletcher in New Orleans and Susan Rose in Cincinnati. It did well in local markets for awhile and it was a lot of fun. Glad you enjoyed it! Vance

Hi Gert: The fool on the one night stand was intended to be a female as the song was released by two female singers in Cincinnati and New Orleans but I guess I was a little sloppy with the writing here on FS to make that clear. How sad. I know there are people who are nothing in their own minds and so in different ways they all become one night stand. We all share moments of doubt as to our own expectations some go on and achieve their goal, some stumble and become one night stand. Sincerely Mabaker

How true Mabaker! ! there are so many out there seeking any kind of blast from their ordinary lives and into who knows what kind of danger. I guess that's why people jump out of airplanes and race killer waves on the ocean. I prefer to write poetry and that's as dangerous as I want to get! ....well ok....every now and then, there are special people who come along in life and do deserve trust and admiration. r knows how to weigh and you have in mind the possible consequences of the decision he will make.Making decisions in life is not really easy.To arrive to a right decision one should consider not only the temporary pleasure one will have but the long lasting benefits of such decision that will make him and our creator happy .What we should always do is to ask for guidance and wisdom from the source of life that we have...from our creator.He always wants us to walk in the right path and to choose the right decision eventhough we are given a free will.He is a loving God who always wants us to be happy!
I really admire those musician -composer for I don't have such talent and skills though with great interest.I am very fond of writing poems and I tried to sing it with weird tune without any accompaniment. I am not a musician ,so, I don't even know the corresponding musical notes of the tune of my composed song.I sang them and recorded them . I really enjoy listening to those songs with unknown notes.It makes me laugh with the tune but the lyrics makes me cry.Most of those songs are related to my experiences.I used to express my experiences through my poems/weird tuned song.Only my mom and dad heard those composition for I am ashamed to let others hear them for they will not surely appreciate the tune and my voice.But I let my parents heared it since those compositions came from the bottom of my heart how thankful i am for their sacrifices as parents.I let my father hear my recorded song when he was confined in the hospital.He really appreciated it.He made a comment that those are really nice song and he really liked it..He didnt even recognize that i am the one singing.I let also my mother hear them to let her know that I really appreciated her sacrifices by expressing it not in a serious way but in a way that she will laugh because of the weird tune of the song and of my out of tune voice.But sad to say,they were gone.Nobody will appreciate my song anymore.So, I just keep the recoded songs for myself.

Thanks Jay, for your really great review and stars. I'm sincerely delighted that you enjoyed this work as I really admire your skills and talents always. I miss the song writing days as I did rather well with my own publishing company and even had the joy of having Elvis record one of my best: "SALVATION ARMY TEDDY BEAR" which is still in the can and held by his family, but it was an honor to know he liked it enough to record it. One day, I hope they will let it go and I may make some serious $. I will probably share some more on FS. as the contests offer anything. All the best and thanks again! Vance

This song was released by Susan Rose in Cincinnati and Sena Fletcher in New Orleans during the early seventies. I am going to try to dig out some old recordings and see if I can find a way to play them on FS: There's a bunch! Vance

I would think that just about everyone would of had, at some point in their lives a one night stand. except for those who marry their high school sweetheart of course, so this song would resonate with so many. I can see why it would have done well : )
