I am so sorry for your loss. I don't know who you are, but I know who you are (if that makes any sense). This IS a blind contest, and I am 100% serious when I say I don't know who you are, but I recognized the picture, and as saddened as I am by your story, it is another beautiful re-telling, this time about the wonderful dog that belonged to your beloved son.
I know about that 'internal clock' some animals seem to possess too - we had a collie that used to meet the school bus, and my brother and sister who were coming home from school. As a toddler, I went after our dog one day, and stepped in front of that school bus. I'm told our dog saved my life; pulled me away just before it struck...
I think Dog must be in heaven with your son, my friend - it's only those left behind who suffer. May God bless and comfort you. Good luck in the contest.

Your picture brought tears to my eyes for nothing is so terrible as losing a child. You have written so beautifully about the relationship between the dog and your son and perhaps the dog developed cancer because of the stress of his loss.

A very good story. My daughter has a Great Dane named Puppy. Guest are always surprised when she call for puppy and a huge animal comes.

If this is biographically true, I'm terribly sorry for your loss.
It's true, dogs and human beings create and share a very special bond that no other domestic animals can, do, or will.
There's a reason that D-O-G spells GOD in reverse.
I firmly believe that.
Hopefully Roy and Dog are together right now, as I write this review.
One day, very soon, I hope to meet them.
