Patty,
This is well written. You give readers much needed info in a way that seems non threatening--just the truth. It is clear to readers that there is/was a dysfunction involved with these relationships. I am sorry you have had to relive this time. Thanks for sharing. Jan

Hi Jan; thank you so much for reading. You know, reliving this time in my life has been difficult, but it has also been freeing. I feel like a weight has been lifted from my spirit. I am really looking forward to sharing some time with my brother to talk things over - I want to hear what he has to say.

Good morning Patty:

Your well written memoirs continue to be so interesting and this whole walk with you as you describe your life, tugs on my heart strings. I find my self wishing your life was so much more full of love and family acceptance and togetherness. It is so true. You never can really judge a book by it's cover. From the very few pictures that I have seen of you, I would've thought that your life was always so excellent. You look so happy in the profile photo.

My heart is with you but I can tell from your writings that you have made your life one that you are proud and happy with. Of course, you will always wish that your family situation with mother, sister, brother - was always better that what it always was and is - but your life with your husband and your children is what will always give you the most pleasure and memories. I am still following your story. It is a good read.

Hi Tier; thank you so much for continuing to follow the story. There is more to come as I move from my early childhood to young adulthood.
My life is wonderful now, and I do believe that I've worked hard on my own happiness. I accepted and loved myself before I met my husband, and we've built a great life together. It has been a lot of hard work, and not always perfect, but we've stuck together for better or worse.
I appreciate your warm reviews and welcome your comments,

Patty, your story continues to fascinate me.
I've pictured you in my mind from those childhood
chapters - and from way back from your Italian
family members and that vineyard.

This chapter brings in the beginning of your adult life
and I can't wait to read it all.
You have a very neat, impartial way - in my opinion -
of dealing with your fellow siblings even today, without
any bitterness. That earns a six-star rating in my books.

Hi Aki; your review and comments mean a great deal to me. This short chapter summed up a great deal, and left me with a different perspective on things. I can't wait to have a 'sit down' with my brother later this year and hear what he has to say about the events I've talked about in previous chapters. It should be an interesting time.
Thank you for continuing to read along and I'm glad you're willing to take the ride,

Thank you for sharing your story.
I can certainly understand the apprehension your brother and sister have concerning your memoirs.
It is an interesting story and one that should be told.

Airing dirty family laundry can definitely be reacted to in more ways than one as displayed by your siblings.

They also have a right to their thoughts, feelings, and points of view as well. Perhaps they may even perceive these events in a different light than you do.

Seems you are bent on telling your version of the story regardless of the effect it may have on them. Even if it destroys any possible chances of reconciliation later.

I, too, come from a dysfunctional family that had more than its fair share of problems. Try a 2 x 4, and a baseball bat up aside the head, for starters.

Reality may be that for some this would be interesting reading. For others, it may be a case of who cares? You may wish to brace yourself for both reactions.

Hi Brett; thank you so much for reading. Your comments are appreciated and I hear and heed your words. My brother has asked that I continue to write the story. He wants to see the events through my eyes - I've always been the family historian. If anyone doesn't want to read, they can always hit the 'skip' button.

It must be incredibly be frustrating for your, but the essence of dysfunctionalty is the inability to forgive, and gossip, injuring and refusing to admit nothing is one's fault, it's always it's somebody else's, my advice is to forgive them, and let them live their life the way they. I'm very sorry, it must hurt, blessings, Roy

Hi Roy; thank you for your time to read and review. I am doing my best to move on once and for all, and this writing is helping a great deal. I continually work on the forgiveness - I lean on Him for His help and guidance.

This is a good read.
--I agree. Photos can tell lies. My two boys looked like the perfect children on a photo, like they really loved each other. In reality, they fight like cats and dogs.
Nice artwork: The image shown supports the writing. The people in the image look like they're either excited or surprised.
Thanks for sharing a part of your book.
Good luck with your future writing!

Hi Patty,

Families are weird things. It's all about that perception growing up and what exposure people have. It's like at the scene of a crime or an accident where none of the eye-witness accounts totally add up. That's what families are like, memories too.

Are you okay. I think we need to talk..." - think you should have a ? after okay.

All the best

Hi G; thank you for your time to read and review. I appreciate your comments and totally agree with you. I'm looking forward to hearing my brother's memories of certain events - he was almost ten years older when each event happened.

Your kind words are appreciated, and I fixed the nit - a ? was most definitely needed,

You can choose your friends, but not your family. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read. There is very good imagery.

This was a great read. No fun on your part I am sure. I fet=lt like I was reading my story or my wife's story. can see a lot of comparisons to both our stories. I do wonder what my sister would think if she read my biography. My last remaining brother wants to read it once I am finished. I loved my brother very much. Thanks for the mirror on our lives. One spag. I was resented and assumed to (be)a big part
