I loved this well-written and eloquent verse. It has dual purposes in showing us a vivid description of the Carolina forests and also how life has obstacles that we all face and must overcome too... just like the water. Well said.

Thank you for showcasing this photograph as an introduction to Carolina's woods after a rainfall. I particularly admired your use of tercets, the "Tears" metaphor and your addition of sound. Cheers- Joan

How awesome -- rapids of a river like the rapids of life...to be ridden and not tamed, enjoyed and not stilled! :) ;) Thanx for sharing such a lovely, flowing write! :)

Hello TPAC

Like the way you viewed and heard the rapids (of life
I know the Rapids of life has taught me to listen; and learned from it. I have already learned from the flow and the sound that it is good at times to strive not downwards, try not sink, and seek not the depths.

thank you for sharing your free verse poem about the power of a rushing river. I'm familiar with the rivers of North Carolina. I spent a summer in the mountain region one year. We fished in the rivers because in August, they didn't run quite so fast. I loved listening to the waters run over the rocks. Your poem reminded me of the power of the river,
