I can relate to your lovely story of Simba, and smiled as you described him chatting to you. We lost our beloved cat three weeks ago, same age as yours almost, ours was 8 and a half. We had her from the age of 3 weeks and had to bottle feed her. She was with me all day, and then went to her bed and died. No reason, illness, nothing. She was black too. I enjoyed reading about Simba, and I understand how you felt losing him at that young age. Good luck in the contest! :) Sandra ss

Hi Sandra; I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. Know that my thoughts are with you - losing a pet is the worst. I appreciate your time to read and review,

Although I have never owned a pet, I compare it to best friends. People expressed they are family too. Losing someone close animal or person creates a void takes times. You've expressed loss well. Good writing.

This is a lovely story of a truly beautiful creature--in heart and body--and that creature's beautiful human companion.

I'm very sorry you lost your Simba. I have lost countless dogs and losing them has caused me more grief than losing my humans.

Beautifully written.

How royal he looks and this is a great phrase, "His chatter made me laugh, and we used to have long conversations, His antics brought much laughter and his big heart encompassed mine.". A great entry. Good luck. Have a great day. Namaskaram

Good essay.
Well-written.
Free of grammatical errors!
Nice artwork: The image shown of a solid black cat goes well with this writing. Those eyes look kind of spooky.
Best of luck to you in the contest.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful creature.
Good luck with your future writing!

What a beautiful creature, obviously well loved. I'm sorry you lost him at such a young age, it's hard losing a loved one, whether human or animal,

All pets should be so well loved!
Your 'used' cat sounds so entertaining: talking, chatting, having whole conversations with its owner.
Not a cat person, I was surprised to realize how yakky they can be after watching my sister-in-law with her best friend. I swear I understood some of the words...in English!
Cute story, Simba's owner...

THis piece beckoned me as cats are my passion. They are the best at feeling what we feel and clossest to communicatiing with us if given the chance. Fate brought him into your life and memories will keep him alive

Oh yes how well I know the pain when our friends go to the resting tree. It breaks our hearts to whisper 'goodbye' I have loved and lost so my heart breaks for you. Sincerely Anne

Very lovey remembrance of your cat. He was indeed a beautiful creature. I like the way you describe his looks and habits. I had thoughts of adopting a mature cat, but it seems as though some of them do have problems adjusting to a new home. It's great that he was so friendy. The two cats I had before I got the kittens lived to be almost 20. Some cats are just big like yours. It depends on the breed. I've read that Maine coons are the largest. Good luck in the contest. judi
