Very moving piece! Of the many studies that inspire my own work, I do appreciate the topic of love. While I do find it to be over-romanticized in the publics eye (as seen in movies, books, etc.), this rung as a work of REAL love that I enjoyed. Perhaps not meant to convey this message, but love is much like a dance: ebbing and flowing, front to back, side to side. Thank you for gracing us w/this piece JMF4119, my glasses now blush a little rosier - Cheers!

I love to dance but don't dance like you describe here though I wish I could. My mom and dad both loved to dance and were wonderful ballroom dancers so it reminded me of them:)

This is lovely, and best of luck in the contest with this. Excellent work with your rhyme and flow in the sonnet form. The narrator's thoughts were on how they were in harmony and she did not want the dance to end. The third stanza brings the question of whether this could be a lasting love. That is answered in the last stanza with the couple's marriage. You do a skillful job of bringing in musical and dance terms that add to the imagery. Funny that your husband doesn't dance. My parents didn't dance, but ironically they loved to watch Arthur and Katherine Murray and Lawrence Welk on TV. judi

Really nice love poem J, this is a good entry in the love poem contest for sure.
That's one thing I wish I had learnt to do better to dance all those classic styles like the samba and the rumba or whatever. Thanks for sharing your post with us
