This is a well written play in words and times. Shakespeare meets 80's deejay in a troubling marriage proposal. The dialog is perfect and all the man needs is a beer in his hand.

Sounds like an everyday occurrence between most men and women pondering the prospects of getting hitched together under the same yoke of marriage.
Reasons for doing so are given.
Responses for avoiding the disease are also listed.
Nice touch with the quotes from Lena Lathrop thrown in for good measure.
Should make an interesting entry into this contest.

Thank you, my friend. This is a very old poem, probably written in the 1800 era or early 1900. I have a very old book of poetry called Poems Teachers Ask For. It was published by F.A. Owen Publishing Company, Dansville, N.Y. Strangely, I could find no date of publishing. My Aunt Hazel gave it to me years ago. She used to teach deaf children and said she used the poems from this book. Don't ask me how she taught poetry to deaf children because I don't know. LOL, I had to read a poem in High School and I chose this one out of the book.
