This was a real joy to read. I am sorry I missed the contest. I get a bit miffed with some of the contests and always reckon I am never gonna win anything anyway.
I am so pleased your boy has an idea of what he wants to do already. I remember being 15 and still not sure what I wanted to do then God put me in the right place...a music store for my first job, having been into music most of my life. Hope you will check out my book chapters 29, 30 and 31 are still up with rewards I am not certain all my fans of which you are one pretty sure are being notified. I haven't heard the 'File Thirteen' expression for years... didn't know it was a military thing; I do use that hehe.

thank you for giving us some insight on the contest. I voted for Draco! I found it the most fitting for the opening lines - now I know why. Congratulations on placing in your own contest,

Really! You never know what other people might think of your efforts to write. I often wonder what percentage of my reviews were fluff and what percentage honest renderings for my efforts. Lately it's all short conversations and I doubt the opinions given here could be used as a yardstick for talent, LOL Nancy

Appreciate the review.

A very well-written encouraging piece of prose. We should write about whatever is on our mind, sometimes we need to consider our work for file thirteen, when it doesn't land there it might have some value.

Interesting write. I've never tried creating a contest, but good for you in doing so. The moral of your piece is, I believe, never throw any of your writings away, no matter what you think of them. It's like my mother-in-law holding on to her old clothes. You never know when you can use them. A dog expo sounds like great fun. I've seen dog agility contests and saw part of a dog show one time. They are delightful. Happy trails. judi

Hi Brett, it was good of you to come back and give some feed back to the contest you created. I had good fun with it and a story might come out of it. One that is based on facts as it were. All best. Ulla:)

Holy Crap! I love this little bit of a rambling mind in front of a keyboard solving all of the worlds problems. Well, a few on Fanstory, maybe. This is well written and the picture is good. We all need to let our minds ramble every once in a while, to find that one story that was crap in our eyes but really wasn't that bad. Who knows?
Have a great day and God bless.

'Balloon Farm on Mars'
Nice artwork: The image shown of the colorful hot air balloons in the air is lovely.
--That's one way to get an increased population. I like hot air balloons but probably would never get inside.
Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with your future writing!

This is sharing of author's experience of how the title came in and the background history of concept for writing this, what influences, where and how, well said, I liked the essay, organised and well structured, truly but easy said.
