Ah! I wish! I love the image and the whole concept. A very succinct phrasing of our lives. But maybe, we need to have hope all the time, rather than just when we wish ... and is wishing the same as hoping? Rhetorical question perhaps, but thank you for inviting me to ponder the deeper meanings of your poem.
