Again, you surprised me with this style (thank you for the author notes). I liked the poem because of the mixed messages. "Not all mothers are quite so wise
their hearts have a dimple
all lies" is my favorite part of the piece, the strongest part for me! Well done!

thank you again for another nice review. The duality of the piece was hard to convey. I wanted to make sure that people knew that not all mothers are created equal, but I didn't want to down motherhood completely.

This is a great ode to mothers and the day that celebrates them. Poem made me think of my dearly departed mother whom I miss but know "a mother's true love never dies." Memento has an ambivalent edge to reflect children's mixed experiences and memories of their mothers. Yes, "not all mothers are quite so wise." Thank you for sharing your poem.

i can relate to the content your poem, mine was a very dysfunctional household growing up. I think my siblings and myself were a little damaged growing. Amazing! I love this poem. I love my mother. I wrote two poems for my mother but I was embarrassed to let her read them until sometime later. I need to check my email to see if she has replied to me. Mothers are amazing and what they did for us to be here is wonderful. I am so happy to have read this poem because it reminded me of how much I should appreciate my mother. In my opinion, I can appreciate this writers notes more than the poem, since I have little regard for my own mother. I did find the poem appropriate, for me at least. It is a presentation I can thoroughly appreciate, because of this writer's exceptional talent...
