There is a nice serenity in this poem. The twilight is a peaceful transition from day to evening and you capture this mood beautifully in this poem.

A lovely scene in the picture. It captures nature's awesome beauty, as does your haiku. "Twilight gratitude" has such a lovely sound. Your poem has a prayerful spirit with the words gratitude and prayer. The purple weeds are the perfect image to suggest twilight gratitude. Lovely work. judi

There are flowers that are considered weeds, I don't know why. Like someone told me African violets are weeds.
Thank you very much, Linda, luv ya,
Gypsy

Hello Gypsy
interesting, so good that you picked a purple weed for your haiku other than the famous yellow weed the dandelion.

Good haiku! I could just imagine all the purple weeds on a front lawn while it is becoming night. The purple color deepens then. I still think of them as flowers, though, and not weeds. :P
It seems the haiku club list is growing longer and longer as time goes on.

Oh, MariVal,
Reading that this is the last challenge brought a sinking feeling like a relative has passed. In the past week, I have moments of feelings of loss, mild blues, not full blown depression, just melancholy. In searching why I realized it is the lack of contact on a weekly basis from your classes. The club isn't a part of these blues. Why? If I figure that out, I will tell you.
I like the image your haiku provides me. Purple is the royal color, and you are she who (or is it whom?) must be obeyed in all things haiku. You are haikuist-hajin-sensei!
Thank you, MariVal, for sparking my passion for haiku. Your unending apprentice,
Grasshopper

Hello, Michael, thank you for reading me.
Grief comes in waves for me too. Every time I face the end of something I relive past losses, it is a normal thing for everyone. No worries, soon we will start a new book and this book number one is a huge celebration. All our hard work is going to pay off big time. :) rejoice!

The twilight hours create colors we could not have imagined earlier in the day, and the calm atmosphere lends itself to thoughts of gratitude and repose.
