'Healthcare's Sleeping Giant' is an interesting read.
--The way the economy is going, Medicaid and a lot of other things may become extincted.
Great artwork: The image shown fits well with this writing.
Thanks for sharing.
Good luck with your future writing!

good grief, you're smart! And knowledgeable. and smart. :)
Why don't you run for your State Senate or something?
This piece is so complex and confusing, or maybe I should say it's too late at night for me to worry about it. But I am truly impressed with your understanding of it.

Hi there, I want to write the review, as it is a well written post. Well what happens in the US with health care has always been a mystery to me. Brought up in a well fare country and lived in others as I still do over here. You pay your taxes and you get free health care all your life. From birth to death. Simple as that. That's well fare for you. Not much to talk about. But you do have to pay through the taxes of what you earn. It doesn't matter where your political beliefs lie. Egual for all high and low, right or left. And those with low income or none, well we all contribute through our taxes. So nobody loses out. Simple and easy. Ulla

You have no doubt heard the saying too big to fail. That goes for every government program. The problem with so-called entitlements is that once they are in place, they can never be taken away. For years I've been told that social security was on the brink of collapse. Yet it's still around.

Thank you for sharing this essay on medicare and medicaid. The only thing I need to comment on is whether or not the elderly will qualify for medicare. IF you have any assets, most states will not see as qualified for medicaid benefits. While it is true that less and less folks have any real assets, it could be as little as $500 -$1K in savings or checking.
Your points are well taken, and I wonder if the benefits will continue to be available, too.

I myself wonder all the time. I put a lot of work, sweat and yes, tears into my social security. They better not take that away. It isn't much, but we don't need much. I hope. As for health insurance, haven't been able to get any at all. Now when I need it most.

A very well-written informative piece. I feel it is very important to have some kind of medical insurance. We cannot predict the future and the sooner we start to invest in a medical aid the better. At this moment my chronic medication is three times more than my monthly premium on my medical cover.

Great read my old friend. Missing your story about the young boy. Noticing more and more of my favourite writers are disappearing from FS. Now for the spags countless others, I be[ing}(gin) to ponder

Appreciate the review and the catches.
Cody is still around. He will return SOON!
I hear what you are saying about many of the best writers leaving FanStory.
Wrote Tom a note this morning because Chapter One of this book was rated 5 Stars, Chapter Two was rated 6 Stars, and yet before even receiving any reviews for Chapter Three, this one, the overall rating of the book was 3 Stars. Go figure!
Believe many others feel the same sorts of frustrations.

Glad to hear it. Trying to remove an MP3 from one of my chapters can you help. I want to put it on a different chapter.
