Patty, I think this is a very clever Haiku poem. You have managed to create a scene of activity from still words. Very descriptive and an enjoyable read. I can see those playful puppies going crazy over a bouncing ball. Very well done! ~DD

A poem for and about the doggies again, 'ey, Patty?
Yeah, I get it.
Our dogs are often a great source of companionship, as well as inspiration.
Not to mention that they'll often do some very silly, crazy things sometimes.

Good morning, Dean. Yes, the dogs took to barking at me until I wrote a piece about them. Howie didn't want it to be solely about Bernie, and Bernie reciprocated the feeling. The compromise was to write only about the snack ball. That bought me about a week until I have to churn out another doggy tail - I mean tale. 😀

This is so true, "it bounces, they run". The little ones are always mad of balls, so puffy cute they play. And this one is real artistic, " four little black eyes twinkle".

Enjoyed your haiku in honour of your playful pups.

Interesting Author notes... I have been off site for some considerable time and it appears that rules are changing/evolving all time. I too, though haiku had to be nature orientated.

A very well-written 5-7-5 poem. Two puppies with twinkling eyes wait for that round ball to be thrown, then chasing after it for the first prize. Both are winners in their own right.
