I can just imagine their eyes lighting up at the sight of the ball.
Excellent haiku Patty, ..it bounces they run, completes it brilliantly.
Have a lovely evening

hi; thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. My pups are a great source of inspiration. The go absolutely crazy as soon as I get the ball out. They watch intently as I place some treats inside, and when I roll it across the carpet, its all out play as they wait for the treats to come out through the top. I appreciate your kind words of encouragement,

Your words show the world from the viewpoint of your pups. It bounces, they run, is a perfect last line. I can see the pups running clearly, reminds me of my mini dachshund running after his ball.

This 5 7 5 poem seems to be about 2 puppies chasing after a ball.
I like the alliteration with the 'b'' sound in all three lines. The artwork looks for me more of a Christmas ornament that has fallen off the tree to a carpeted floor.
You are right; Haiku's are about nature; senryus are about human nature. gyiji are about religion. But they all have the same syllable count.

Keep writing.

This is a good Haiku.
Amusing.
It consists of three lines.
Each line has a syllable count: 5-7-5
Total syllable count: 17
Great artwork: The image is a perfect match for this poem.
Thanks for sharing your Haiku.
Good luck with your future writing!

Interesting picture. Good subtle alliteration. I like be the idea of your wee dogs waiting for you to throw the ball, 'the ball is in play' there is a great feeling of fun in this poem. I have three rough collies who love nothing better than chasing after a ball. MaggieF

Oh, rats, you didn't post a picture of Howie and Bernie (I love those names). Well, I guess in keeping with the Haiku, you chose this one. I'll just use my imagination, Patty.

Hi patty, I had to read others' reviews to know what that 'thing' is. Now I 'get it'. Your Haiku is cute. Animals are as individual as people. Some things that make noise my dog will not even walk by. He hates any loud noises.
I liked the line
" Four little black eyes twinkle". Stirred my clueless imagination !!!!!
Good poem, Trisha

Hi Trisha; thank you so much for reading and reviewing. I appreciate that you investigated to find out what the 'thing' was. This was a fun little write inspired by my furry friends. They couldn't have any chocolate on Easter - so they had doggy treats. They just had to work at it!

The play trick is on and the puppies come and they run the moment the ball bounces, the fun goes on, puppies madness continues; I liked this specialised haiku, enjoyed the visual imagery.

A very descriptive haiku about the fun of the run when the ball is in play. Love your central line, puts a smile on my dial.Who knew there were so many parts to the haiku forms. Interesting notes Patty, nicely done,
cheers,
