This is truly engaging the students. That is a wonderful skill to have in a class room full of students who truly want to learn just are not sure ow to go about it. Enjoyed.

You know, that is what's going on. Good call. They do want to learn, but aren't sure how, and they get awfully bored, with all the distractions that are going on.
I do so appreciate your reviews, my friend!!
Take care,
Rhonda

I used to love chemistry and biology, but I absolutely hated with passion maths, even though I managed somehow to pass my GCSE and A level with a high grade, but no. Just no.
This is a very interesting concept and I'm sure students will enjoy it and their skills and creativity, attention will benefit from it.
Good luck!

Thank you so much for your comments. I've always loved science, but not all my students do. This gives them all a chance to do something different, while learning chemistry in spite of themselves. I'm having fun, anyway.
Take care,
Rhonda

Rhonda,
I think this idea of getting the kids involved in teaching themselves is brilliant. Instead of just talking AT them, letting them participate in the planning and execution of the lesson plans has got to be an improvement over some of the old ways. Eager to hear more! Thanks!

It is different, and it's fun. There are times when we hit snags, but we work it out together. It was different at first, but we are all getting used to it.
Thanks for the beautiful review,
Rhonda

Very interesting. My youngest daughter had a very hands on science teacher in high school. He was a very good teacher. You have 'student led' is that what you truly wanted or is it 'student lead'? Can't wait to see how this program turns out for you and your school.

Thank you for the wonderful review!
The method is called, "student-led" . I didn't invent that one. It's a "teacherese" word.
I do appreciate you stopping to review.
Take care,
Rhonda

no problem just making sure it wasn't a typo. "Teacherese" love it.

The new method of teaching is so interesting, holding the students attention - it must be exciting for you to try something so different.
I wish they used such a method in my day.
Great chapter, Rhonda.

Thank you, Margaret. I wish they had, too. I guess that's why I'm doing it now, because I get to have fun. Some days are sort of boring and the kids get off task, but as the hard deadline of the test approaches, they get in gear.
Take care,
Rhonda

This is awesome. I love the concept. A way to keep the children interacting with the learning--what more to hold their interests! I just love this--keep going!
I got my MS in Early Childhood education and we learned by hands on--mistakes were learning also. Believe me, kids make plenty of them, and that is the best way to learn.

Thank you for the great comments. That very idea -- what kids do in elementary school--is what's missing in high school, and why we lose their interest. Elementary teachers spend a lot of times helping their kids enjoy what they are doing. Then they get to high school, and we make them hate being here. It was one of my motivations for this format.
Thanks for you support,
Rhonda

Yes. I learned Howard Gardner's 'multi-intelligence' theory. Seems they do it in preschool and elementary--then it gets lost as rote memorization and lecturing took over.
Good luck :)

Your story about a new method of teaching continues to intrigue me. I can see that the students are excited about having an active role in this process. Your prose flow well and tell the story about the exciting program in a pleasant manner. Thank you for sharing,

Thank you, Patty!
The kids are excited about being able to make their own mistakes, and choices, without fear of reprisal. We just had a meeting yesterday about their falling behind schedule. Rather than react in anger and disappointment, which was my first reaction, I went to them with the problem and let them solve it. It takes pressure off of me, and makes them responsible for their own behavior and grades.
Thanks so much,
Rhonda

Interesting storyline.
Plenty of high rising action to keep readers engaged throughout the telling of this tale.
Chemistry should make an unique topic to write about and keep it entertaining.

Thank you, Gypsy! I am trying to do something different as the old way of doing it is so over done, and doesn't really address the world the kids live in now. They are growing up fast and we have to find a way to reach them where they are, and lead them where we want them to go.
Take care, my friend,
Rhonda

A good chapter of its book that I will have to read some chapters more to define my aptitude for thinking, I liked this one and I see that is marked like recognized work, congratulations
