A Question
Does anybody have an answer?25 total reviews

The first time I posted my book, it was listed as a new listing. I started posting it a second time, because I had changed it to third person. The second time, it came up as a revived post. It was not listed under 'my latest post', but it could still be reviewed. I'm not sure why there would be different rules for different people. If there is, I wonder if it would have something to do with ranking. I hope this helps answer your questions.

You're right, I've noticed it before, too. I got nailed when I first got on this site for writing a sequel to my story about Charlie the goldfish because it sounded too close to the original story. I went back and made sure it sounded more like a continuation. Of course, it wasn't Tom, but a reviewer. I learned.
Good issue to bring up!

After the original post is two years old it can be reposted as a revived post. However, this does not explain your insanity. It's really you.

When I was faced with this problem, Tom ruled that regardless of the amount of changes/addition, my story was revised. Several of my readers did not review my revised story because they wouldn't get any reviewers points. The rules are listed in Frequently asked questions.

'A Question'- it certainly got my attention.
The image fits the question perfectly.
--I don't really have an answer. However, I think when something is revived, it's not the same as it was before.
Thanks for sharing this.
Good luck with your future writing!

You are correct that older, edited posts are REVIVED, never new, regardless of how much editing is done to them. Those who try to pass off old writing as new are breaking the rules. I'd suggest telling Tom... give him the details and proof. If he ignores the cheating, there's not much left to do. He runs the site, after all, and he has the final say.

Hi Sasha, A revival Certificate is only available to FS writers on payment of the enormous $US9.95 only for works that are a minimum of 2 years old since original posting. If we tried to re-post something we had written in less than 2 years it may not be allowed. I have recently been reposting my old chapters of my Biography as I had done quite a bit of editing to quite a few. Also, there are new members on the service that would not seen our stuff before. As I think Tom pointed out to me the Revive Certificate treats the work as though it is a new listing, but older member would know it has been on before. If you re-post stuff under normal Certificates your old Fans will not get notified they are only notified under the Revive Certificate. I have had a few discussions with Tom about this too, hehe. Love ya mate.

Hello my friend good question a revived post is one that you can edit and put in with a special certificate which last 4 days I think that when you use this people who have already seen the piece previously cannot review again it can be used once every 2 years, a new post, however, is exactly that new as I understand anyway best ask Tom my friend he maybe able to explain wheat's going on regards Jill

No, you are not wrong, a revived post is a revived post "no matter how much you edit it." If we had reviewed their posts in the past and the authors revived it we wouldn't be able to change our rating. What you describe is when a writer repost an old story as new. I am confused, too, but try not to think about it, for writers have various reasons for re-posting.
Thank you for ranting with me.

That's the way I see it. If I repost something that has been reviewed before it is revived. Simple and plain. Or at least that would be my intentions. I hope this helps.
