There is another word as well, which means introductory remarks, which are as your author's notes here. The word is proems. It isn't used often. I hope to read some of the non-fiction you have in mind.

Congratulations on your writing career. Work or hobby, it's a nice accomplishment. Well thought out and clearly written. Old letters can hold good sentimental value. Good prologue. Good luck :)

Hi Patty,
It sounds like it will be an interesting story.
I believe as you write
you'll be able to see the hand
of the LORD working through your life.
I think it will be interesting to read about all the things
that the LORD has brought you through and has done in your life.
Best regards,
K River

Hello Mustangpatty1029,
Nice piece of Biological Non-Fiction beautifully leading the reader to read/know further!
Spontaneous flow having impressive phraseology.
Interesting, and this sentence "My grown children are still a source of joy, though not always." makes it more interesting and worth reading because it promises to bring in light the writer's true feelings devoid of artificiality.
Most Welcome!

Patty,

I am glad to hear that you are happy and contented with the life you now live. That is a great place to be! *smile* I will look forward to reading about your experiences.

Now, some notes:
1.) Nor the young girl (who) had to fight off her mother's
--> when it's a person, it's a 'who' not a 'that'

2.) I have a husband (who) loves me.

Thanks! Good luck in your story-telling!

I'm so pleased your mother wrote that letter to you before she died, it's important to know that after the trauma you went through in your life, she did come through for you and let you know how proud she was. I look forward to reading your story. :) Sandra xx

You have managed to convey such strength in overcoming. You speak of the obstacles, but do not dwell on them.. It is bizarre, but when I look into the eyes of the 18 year old in the picture, she seems to have a resolve and confidence that rises above all that will come. We seem to be in a similar state of contentment.
I really appreciate the candor, honesty,, and human tragomedy behind this superb writing. It stands the test of time by itself, yet is intrinsically connected to the collective (positive) consciousness. PS tragomedy is a word that I created to combine these elements, similar to "simplicated"
Blessings,
Brother Badger
