It will always be hard to say goodbye to someone who has been a shoulder to cry on and, but it can also be the start of a new journey for you, but hey, with skype, and messenger, moving away no longer means being gone from someones life : )Good luck in the contest

I'm always amazed when I learn stories of suffering like this one, which seem like one punch to the stomach after another grief. How do you do it?
This flash-fiction of so few words is so well written. You carry the reader along on the road from grief to purpose to joy for others; and you do it so well.
I love it.

First let me say I felt the pain that we live with daily and I really was able to relate to this, to feel your happiness but your sadness. It's losing a comfortable way of life, never a friend. I enjoyed this a great deal.

Hi there,

This is a well written short piece of fiction which covers a lot of ground in not many words. It is funny how much we are affected by the actions of others.

All the best and good luck

Yes, She will be moving soon and this has been a challenge. I am grateful for the friendship we have had for years, and I will keep in touch with her, always. (Changes made to make it fiction)
Pays one point and 86 member cents. Short and sweet, but gfull of good lessons in life, without any bitterness or envy.
Wish you all the best,
Apky

This is a good story of friendship and unfortunately, loss. Your account of the losses was hard to write, I'm sure. Losing a best friend is also hard to take, but you portray the transition for her well. Good luck in the contest.

Short but poignant story. Life does go on... until it stops. We have no power to change our fate, only to enjoy the good parts of every day. :)

A great photo - did you take it? A great articulation also of how friendships come to be and what they can mean to us. I love love stories that are about relationships other than romantic ones - this is surely that. It speaks to the deepest of human connections - connections we need to make it on this planet. You were lucky to have each other.

Your last line is so poignant. I like the technique of having a short sentence stand alone as its own paragraph - gives it extra power.

Hope all is well with you. Peace.

Blessings Mark. Friendships are a topic I love to visit, and I, like you, get weary of love stories sometimes. I'm going well friend...
And I hope you and yours are well too. Yes that is my friend. I took the picture at a concert.

There is admiration, joy and an appreciation for your dear friend that flows from your words in this flash fiction tale, Lois. However, I also sense an underlying great sadness and feelings of longing as well.
Perhaps that's just me, but it's still what I felt nonetheless.
Regardless of how it made me feel, the important thing it how this well written little story made YOU feel after writing it.
Well done, and best of luck to you in the contest.
Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Loanna
I love your entry into this dribble flash contest. The organization you both set up is wonderful. A place for broken hearts can find some solace. Are you still involved in it now your friend has moved on? I know you are moving on too. good luck in the contest.
