I enjoyed this and now must search Harry Chapin. Thanks for explaining an Ode. I never knew what it was before and have learned something new. It must have been quite the experience to meet a great artist in concert. The poem itself was great.

Great tribute to a great singer/writer/activist; his wonderful songs/music takes me back to my 30-ish years and gives me a serene joy in listening to his beautiful songs to this day. Thank you for sharing.

Well done. This is a beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. Your extensive notes enhance this tribute to Harry. It was a pleasure to read and didn't require meter, Giddy

Your poem is so real and heartfelt, it gave me goosebumps. It is beautifully written in a form that is unfamiliar but it works so well. I had heard of Harry Chapin but was not really aware of what he did. Thanks to your portrayel, both in the poem and notes, I have a picture of him. Thank you so much for sharing this. I shall search out his music. Susan

Wow lots of history in your poem. I see you went all out with the research to make this work. I have always hated the saying that the good die young. but sometimes young is relevant.

I sadly haven't heard of Harry Chapin, but in your writing it shows your admiration towards him. Reading this gave me a good idea and image of who he is also. Really liked the amount of dedication in your writing too.

This was a wonderful work and told the story of the man and the musician.
I always loved his ballads and they were so honest especially Flowers are Red.
Best of luck with this fabulous entry

I'm not familiar with Harry Chaplin. This poem was a lovely way to Ode him and commemorate his memory. He sounds like a great person that has a lot more to offer than just good looks. Hot photograph. Nice work.

Awesome. He really was a great artist and you have made a beautiful dedication to his talent and the effects he had on people, including your own. I think you probably could have written on and on as there is so much to cover from his contributions and the way he lived his life. thank you and bless you

The whitney here is the skeleton while the ode that follows it puts the flesh on the bones. This is an excellent way to write this kind of paean of praise for an entertainer of statuyre even if i a mnot conversant with his songs. Some folk never get to make it across the pond in either direction nthough well spoken of in their own country. Thanks for the helpful bio notes.

thank you for your thoughtful review. I think Harry never made it across the pond because his band played more than half of their tours for charity. I doubt their coffers would cover the costs.

He sounds like a great guy. Had I heard him I would probably have enjoyed being something of a folkie myself.
