Hi jill; yes, that is a picture of Bernie. He is a little rascal sometimes, but he is the most loyal friend in the world. Thank you for the lovely review,

Thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. Bernie is all fine now. I think he has forgotten, though he seems a bit leery of the spot where the vase was - LOL,

Hi there, It was nice to see your writing posted on FS once again and great fun reading your entertaining and amusing story about Bernie. The descriptions of your furry friend are so apt. They brought a smile my way. Like you, I was away from FS for a few years and have only been posting periodically the past couple of months but I enjoy reading the work of others and writing a bit of poetry now and then. Thanks for sharing this delightful sharing. Looking forward to reading more. Hugs, Aggie

Hi Aggie! I was wondering about you. It is so nice to see your pen name pop up on my screen. Yes, I'm back to writing short stories about my dogs, and I've been dabbling in poetry, too. I'm working on a book about drug rehab from the patient's point of view, and its taking a great deal of research because I've never taken drugs, much less end up in a rehabilitation facility. Stay in touch,

Thanks, Patty. It was so interesting to hear from you and to know a bit more about your writing. Sounds like you are keeping busy with it and that is all good when one loves to write! I have just finished writing 2 illustrated children's books and am working on finishing up another one so my poetry has been neglected. FS is such a good way to sometimes give it vent! :-) Looking forward to keeping in touch. Hugs, Aggie

Oh my, I can so visualize that skid. The look on his face when he realizes he's lost control. Poor puppy. haha Poor mistress left to clean up the shattered vase. :s

Great descriptions. Well done on the third person point of view. Enjoyable read.

Bless him. I love how you have interpreted his dream, he was only trying to protect you, so you shouldn't be angry with him! LOL. Lovely story and he's such a lovely looking, sweet dog. I enjoyed reading it. :) sandra xxx

LOL, What would we do without them. They are so entertaining!
You pretty much covered what goes on in a dogs head. Some are smarter than others, but they are all a gift and great companions. Good job Patty. Nancy

So, now I know you yell at poor little doggies. Sorry about your vase, but it was an accident and the doggy was only trying to protect you. Many blessings for a good day with your upset controlled. Patricia

(chuckle) Yes, I yell at the poor little dog when he breaks something. I think I talk louder at some times, too. Thank you for stopping by to read and review. Writing about the episode helped to soothe my nerves,

As the dream reached a maddening impasse, Bernie did his best to come out of this sleepy state and get the stranger. How dare this being walk on the Mistress's floor. He couldn't see the Mistress, but he knew he had to protect her!
Gaining control of his limbs, Bernie sprang to his feet as he woke up. Snarling, he ran at the front door. In a rush, he was going too fast, so he put his feet out to break. Sliding at the front door, he hit the large vase standing nearby.
CRASH
"BERNIE!!"
He slunk under the couch and waited for the Mistress to get over her anger.
Very amusing and Bernie is a cutie just like my dog Snoop. This is a great funny piece of work and I enjoyed it very much I do not see need for improvement. kindest regards John.

Bernie did the mischief, it was a foolish guess now he realizes, mistakenly he crashed the large vase thinking it a stranger, faithfully he wanted to protect his mistress; I liked the humour, easy said, structured, expressed; I enjoyed the theme and resolution.
