Hi Tony:
Pantygynt's fine rendition of this event is worthy of a six, as yours is, too. What a sad day. I especially liked that you noted the resilience of the Brits in the face of adversity and lamented, on behalf of the gods that have violence attributed to their names by their followers.
This is exceptional work and I have no doubt that William Wordsworth would be proud of you both; as am I.

Cheers, Tony;
-I've always been fond of the Petrarchan sonnet's style and when you have written here is not only written very well but also pleases the soul and the mind while reading this wonderful sonnet. The tragedy that existed that day near Westminster Bridge was horrifying yet the soothing style of this particular piece of poetry offered remembrances to this tragic end.
-The rhyming and rhythm and meter were all perfectly aligned and composed to the qualifications and specifications of this particular type of sonnet.
-Allah's will is something I'll never understand for type of God world will the death of others for the benefit of one.
-Thank you for sharing and take care and have a good one, Tony, for all those that you love.

Nicely done Tony even if Pantygynt beat you to it. I read his too, and his, like yours, fills us with emotions as we read through. Well said, and a great tribute to those lost and in pain.
cheers,

Very nicely done, Tony - I've read both yours and Jim's and they are both excellent and moving works, done in your own unique styles. I can see why both of you were inspired by WW's lovely work, composed as you said, in happier times.
You've done very well here, describing this atrocious event. Your ending lines are excellent - referencing Britons' refusal to let this terror rule their lives - no, they will go on, though "mighty hearts lie still".

Tony, your sombre presentation alerted us to the nature of this tribute to the victims of London's terrible tragedy on Westminster Bridge. Your gift of writing poetry just at the right time amazes us. Pete and I both love everything you write. Thank you so much for writing this beautiful tribute to the people who are grieving in London, Giddy

I think you did a good job capturing yet another horrific slaughter.
Callously mown down and left to die
Those words give this tragedy a deep dimension. What comes to mind are hunters who shoot at birds or other animals, not knowing if they were hit and left to suffer. No more to say, Tony, or I'll go off on a tangent. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired of this.

Very many thanks, Louise, for your review of Westminster Bridge. Much appreciated.Your comments about hunters struck a chord with me as the duck hunting season has just opened here - mindless, random slaughter. Tony

I am one of those people who believe we need to go back to simpler times. I would be willing to give up most things I have today if life could life and family could be valued again. Thank you for sharing your very wonderful poem.

Oh Tony, what a marvelous sonnet, and a most worthy tribute to these fallen 'innocents'. Madness has taken over. Zealots are everywhere it seems! There is no place safe, and no one to be trusted, save our closest friends and family. Last six, so well-deserved!

Hi there,
A fine tribute indeed to a shocking event. Having been caught up in events such as these, and having lived with the ever-present threat throughout childhood, my heart goes out to those affected too.
Very nice and fitting piece.

Many thanks, GMG. I can understand that it wouldn't have been easy growing up in Ireland at that time. An understatement if ever there was one.
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written heartfelt and very sad Petrarchan sonnet about once another terrorist attack in a senseless act that killed four and injured forty others totally innocent.

Many thanks, Sandra. It is the random killing of innocent bystanders that makes these incidents more than usually chilling.
