This is a lovely presentation, Gypsy. Birds sound just like summer or a spring morning . What a pity we can't put sound into the multi-author book, Giddy

You can put sound in the multi author book :) you can be as expressive and artistic as you like. Have fun!

Hello, Haikuist Supreme, she who (or is it whom?) we must obey,
I very much like that you have taken a common saying and spun it into haiku gold. Sort of like Olympic gold. There will be naysayers that do not get your satori. Worry not! I have your back. For those unenlightened souls be kind. Simply sigh as if the weight of the world is on your shoulders and then scream "Idiots!" LOL. Probably not a good strategy, but fun to think about!

Grasshopper, still here

I like your haiku. It is so true, people can come and go in one's life. Some remain steadfast as a tree but others drift in and out like the wind. Your first two lines create a sad feeling for me.
I been pondering this haiku for a while now, I am a bit foggy right now. I admit I am having a difficult time grasping the satori. Help me out please.

Yummy--I liked more alliteration and the lovely print of the moody tree. Thank you for continuing to salute spring. Sweet dreams- Joan

The message I get from this poem is that in life relationships change, but in nature there is a permanency, a dependability, a predictability. The beauty of nature is extolled here without literally saying so.

If we could only see everything that passes before a tree in all its years. I cry every time there is a storm or ice that destroy these beautiful, willowy creatures of bark and wood so graceful flailing in the winds. Three-hundred-forty pounds of grit and grime, meaner than a junkyard dog, and I cry over a tree. Oh, well, I'll keep that the hidden side of me. LOL! Thanks for another great poem. :-)

This is especially lovely. The first two line connect perfectly and the satori is excellent. I love the chirping of birds in the background, they enhance the beauty of your marvelously chosen words. I enjoyed this one very much.

Lovely artwork with this. Beautifully presented and lovely expression. Trees are also subject to hardship, just as humans are. There's always the threat of a lightning strike, having a disease, etc. They're assured of a much longer life, however. Some of the trees that were at Gettysburg survived and are still there. Unfortunately, humans don't have the same lifespan. I see movement in trees when the wind is blowing, when they're laden with snow or ice, etc. judi

My wife loves trees, we have a few on our section and and a few years ago we need to get a large soak hole drilled on our drive way to help stop surface flooding when it poured down with rain. The company doing it told my wife they would have to remove two of her trees to get the machinery in to do the job, she cried first then she got angry and told them no way, it's not happening, find another way...got on her, they found another way and got the job done : ) Imagine the thoughts that would has passed theough those two trees minds before during and after... : ) Nice!!

I am sure the trees loved your wife for it. All living things are precious.I am proud of your wife for sticking to her guns.

I love the sense of movement with people contrasted with the stillness of trees. This reminds me of your sentinel haiku. Of course, the seasons change for it is now spring. Thank you for sharing.
