Most intriguing memory of your stay in Istanbul! Captivating the aromatic
market scene and beginning day's cultural cuisine, latter refreshments
and a night cap elixir! Sounds like a tasty and relaxing experience
and memoir....thanks for sharing...
Best wishes always, Ronni

Hello Thesis, Memories of the past that heighten our senses.

Of special note:
My morning walks along the Marina to buy fresh fish, to the Spice Bazaar, the open air produce market, and the bakery always ensured that I had the freshest ingredients for a perfect evening meal.

(Nice, very lovely. I can see it; I can smell it, and I can hear the hustle and bustle of the Marina and open-air markets -- very colorful too.)

Wonderful memories. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

This is a pleasant memory. You've done a good job of creating smells and sights for the reader to enjoy as we go along your route with you. Thank you for sharing and good luck in the contest,

Hi there,

You should probably look at that first line and eliminate 'can'. It is supposed to start 'I remember' and I have seen things disqualified for less.

You do a good job of inviting the reader to join you in the remembrance. Sights & sounds. Nice

All the best

Vice at a Spice Bazaar in Istanbul on assignment of buying fresh fish is rememberable, out of fun, is a nice mention, in indifferent mood and careless attitude, vice practised, an honest sharing.

Byzantium. Long history. I liked the fish markets and household markets of Apulia, and never caught the ferocious dysentery that plagued my shipmates. Older civilizations knew how to live...excellent 100 word dash.

Was 100 words on purpose. It seems so short.

That picture is so enticing. I am a cook and I can almost smell the curries, and turmeric and what not.

I have been to Istanbul and remember many of the same sights and smells you describe. Could you add perhaps one more paragraph and describe the one site you recall the most?

I enjoyed reading your I remember contest entry. You said a lot in only 100 words. I am impressed. Your post made me want to visit Istanbul, even in today's world. Good luck with the contest.
