What great alliterations! I sense something much deeper than the physical sea. In the "widow's weeds of dread" I think of how paralyzed we are by worry and those worries seep into our dreams. But I wonder why it is "lost" no more.

    Thank you for reviewing this and giving your interpretation of it. It was, perhaps, a bit obscure! I had in mind death with unfulfilled dreams - or something along those lines. I got a bit carried away! LOL

So much life is going on deep down that only a few ever get to see. I enjoyed reading this poem. I have always been intrigued by the deep dark part of the oceans. Thank you for sharing.

I love the deep, aquatic imagery of this free verse poem with scattered rhymes. I feel like I am on the bottom of the ocean in a trench with strange life forms:

"where dreams, like plankton,
swirl through weed."

Your poem is vivid and imaginative. It also has a playfulness about it that mimics the sea creatures.

This closing line resonated with me:

"Dreams drowned in deed,
or lack of it;
a loss, but lost no more."

I feel some of the ache and loss of dreams drowned. Your poem takes on a somber closing note on failed dreams.

Thank you for sharing your exceptional poem.
