Well done, Badger. With your poetic ability, of course we can be generous when it comes to the limerick rules. I love the swing of limericks and the smile invariably involved. Must confess, I love anything that raises a smile - there's far too much misery in the world today. Frankly, I haven't the time left to me for misery. So why not make the most of every minute? Thank you for the lesson in Irish. I'm still reeling from the Welsh I had to learn as an evacuee!

A well written song, that deals with one of the great fireside, or even in the pub stories, you've done a great job with this, I wrote this to compliment it, "song that is quite witty, a fine upstanding ditty, I find it rather pretty. while riding in the city, though I find its really gritty, even while it's such a pity, to end this pretty ditty." Sorry Darren I couldn't resist it. Well done, blessings, Roy

Dé Sathairn
Then one day, rising early
feeling sprite and squirrely;
For she had slipped away
in a mysterious way
sucked into a twisting swirly

Dé Domhnaigh
You see, life is like a river,
the current makes him quiver
But Irish broke through,
and you can too!
(Now, she's gone forever)
I loved this I am Irish myself this is truly wonderful and great to see something so different well done xx

A nice upbeat Irish tale in a musical meter with plenty of skipping rhymes to jig it along. perfect for St.Patrick's Day. I really enjoyed the gaelic days of the week, having spent so much of my college years studying Yeats and Heaney, the poets who were so inspirational to me when I started out. Slainte! estory

A fun, well-written Irish poem. To me, it could be read two ways - a female lover or the Reno circuit as a metaphor for a lover. Maybe that was the intention. Very cool that you explain in your author note the Gaelic days of the week added as subtitles to each limerick. Enjoyed!

I loved this one, it was fun to read, and to recite out loud. I've also learned how
to say the days of the week in Gaelic, now that in itself is an amazing thing! The spellings look nothing like the pronunciations, lol. Well done, I really enjoyed everything about this one. :) Sandra xx

This limerick has hallucination effect, I liked, the humour of visualization, magical character, funny (non metaphysical) electric love, change over, escaping, mix of reality-fun, I enjoyed the flow of thoughts (poetic license, imagery, Irish words, natural rhymes, twists and climax), resolution.

Wow! I loved this. I too am Irish but I learned several things from your poem.
I will definitely copy the days of the week for future reference. We went to Ireland in 1996 and I have been longing to back ever since.

A delightful limerick poem.
Well done

Irish Blessings
Janet
