Good poem. Sometimes wisdom isn't the problem. It's inertia. To make A decision action is required. It may not be the best one but at least we have made one. Most things in life can be changed. To sit back and do nothing causes more angst than taking the bull by horns and trying something. I hope your friend gets some peace of mind.

Thank you for your review, Marilyn. My friend is fearful her decision will be troubling for another person, and that I understand. But I know with having made the same kind of decision in the end making the decision turned out to be good for all concerned.

I've heard it said that if we toss a coin in the air, as it comes down we hope for the outcome we want before it lands. Therefore, we have made a decision.

I really like the ending part. It's a great prayer to calm our hearts and be prepared with wisdom to do His will. In the first lines, "Dear Lord, I ask today
that you ally my fears," I think you want "allay my fears" not "ally." Hope you're doing well, Patricia and your eyes are okay.

Wisdom is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit and a wonderful gift it is. As the speaker prays in this poem the need for wisdom is clear, and it is a gift that helps with good decision making, something necessary for good actions.
