This is soooo sweet.
You got the mood of a dog who didn't understand why he 'the good boy' had to go to doggie jail. Bernie was the barker, not Howie. Not eating or sleeping and constantly wondering when they would go home made me feel so sorry for the little guys.
Very clearly written. Enjoyable reading.

I hope you have completely recovered from your dental procedure. Dental work is the worst!

Thank you so much for stopping by to read and review. You certainly understand Howie's point of view. He does seem to find fault in most things that Bernie does. My sore mouth is recovering nicely, and I'm looking forward to chewing on my right side, soon.

Look for a new story about once a week. The boys give me ideas daily! ~p~

This work has reached the exceptional level

'A deep yawn led (to him) licking his white front paws, Howie couldn't believe the Mistress had left him and Bernie in this jail. (him to)

Again, a great story. I hope you write more stories like this as I would love to read more about Bernie and Howie. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for stopping by to read and review. I love personifying my pups. They are my constant companions, and I can't help but try to see the world through their eyes. I will make the edits you suggested. Thank you for catching the nit.

I loved this personification of your dogs and their feelings. It was very amusing and descriptive. I could relate easily to this on account of our dog, who also gets separation anxiety.
I can't find anything negative about this story.

If I personified our dog it would be bad news for us!!!!!! You are welcome

Dogs are part of the family too.

Interesting concept, storyline, and good characterizations used to tell this story.

Why is it we always worry about our children, especially the four-legged, tail-wagging, ones?

I loved your story. I have four dogs of my own and I love everyone of them like they are my child. I have found the more dogs I have they happier they are and the more I become "dog like". Great story.

I know how it goes. You worry about the dogs--this is what happens to me with my dog & cats.

Your story is great. I love the POV. You did a super job staying with it to the end. Your use of descriptive words added to the story. I could easily picture the dogs.

Good job. I enjoyed reading this very much. I love dogs & cats--they are puppies & kitties to me no matter how old. Thanks for sharing. Jan

If he tried, he could almost see her siting in the chair and tapping her fingers on the flat board underneath.  - sit(t)ing

You do have to wonder what animals think. If they wonder if they were bad, if your coming back, etc. I like this from the dogs' POV's.

Dogs..........I have had a few over the years and they are such affectionate, beautiful animals. I enjoyed your story and can see that you are a little 'dog besotted'. Nothing wrong with that. Hope it all worked out for you and them. Susan

Aww, I'm glad the boys didn't have to stay in jail too long! Good job writing this from your dog's perspective.

I'm not sure why, but I think 'falling asleep' reads a little smoother than 'falling to sleep'.

My goodness, that's a huge expense to put them in a kennel. You are so thoughtful of your neighbors. What a fright for them to be put into a "jail" and be away from you. Hope the dental work went well.

The dentist appointment went well. Hubby and I enjoyed our time without them. We had a good time at dinner and the movie. We both missed the furry bundles that usually share the bed with us, and one of the writers here on FanStory has given me some training tips to help with the separation anxiety. Thank you for stopping by to read and review,
