My heart goes out to you I felt every angst your adoring dogs were feeling. I'm a dog lover myself and had to kennel mine I felt so bad I was crying. You opened that memory for me thanks for that. I really got into this story from the first few lines which is great from my point of view. You illeration on the dogs thoughts are spot on. I often wished if only my dogs could talk I wonder what they'd say? When mine were kennelled they didn't eat anything at all they had to call the vets in as we had never been parted before. I think the way you explained the dogs point of view was spot on.
I honestly couldn't say how this could be improved. Congratulations. Loved it

What a fascinating point of view telling the story from one of the dog's view. Dogs are very loyal and do have strong personalities so it's no surprise that they become members of our families. This story is a positive tribute to their loyalty and love.

This was a lovely and Heartwarming story. Truly, a flawless tale that you wrote, describing through empathy what a pet must go through during a sudden change.
Indeed, a remarkable, well-written, and entertaining story.

Oh I loved this one! Excellent story about the boys and their lovely visit. Great use of descriptive wording too, could really picture it all, from the tapping of the foot to the playing. Hope you might write more about these two cuties in the future!!

This cute story of the travails of kennelled dogs Bernie and Howie makes one take 'paws' when considering the feelings of a pup who doesn't understand what is really going on. Cool story.

I can certainly related to this. My dog tries to tear the house apart when we leave him alone. He doesn't bark, he just scratches at the door and pulls the cushions off the couch.
I really enjoyed reading this story about doggy jail. I bet that's exactly how they feel.
Great writing!
Michael

What I would call a fable. A good personalization of a beautiful animal.
When young, I always liked fables, it brings fantasy and the imagination in focus, something we begin to lose on getting older.
Nice write. Good to support as you have done mine.
Have a great day, Patty.
My best wishes.
