LOL I'm sure he is quite possessive over his seaside perch as it is MOST convenient to the carpark, hence the gateway to free food LOL

I absoloutely loved this Connie and after the weekend we just had this is nearer and dearer to my heart than normal.
We went camping on the peninsular and I not only photographed the seagulls but experienced a deluge of them when the little shits were trying to get the last of my home made steak sandwich and of course I ended up succumbing and feeding them all haha.

They really DO rule the airwaves when you're at the beach with hot chips LOL
Trouble is, once one comes, that automatically signals the rest and then they come for miles haha They become a one huge squawking pain in the arse so you hand it over LOL
Think yourself lucky, you didn't have food...or they would have been walking all over your bonnet and scratching your new duco, consequently plopping those little excrements EVERYwhere haha

Fun and bouncy and not to mention a little cheeky.
Just how I like 'em!

Hugs Phillippa

I'm so glad you liked this one, and it sounds like you and I might have shared our experiences with the seagulls about the same time. When we pulled up and parked briefly under the "no parking" sign, this seagull just kept staring at me while Bill was out photographing something. I honestly felt like that seagull and I "had a moment." Of course when I pointed my phone at him to take a picture, he looked away--his way, I guess, of letting me know he wanted me to move on.

By the way, I read several of your poems in your book one night to some friends, and they really enjoyed them. These friends have known about you for the past three or four years as I've shared some of your FanStory poems with them in the past.

Thanks again, sweet and funny lady. I loved reading your review; and, of course, I loved getting another sixer. I don't get many of those these days when I post once a week or so. I'm so glad you and I are still in touch.
    Love ya,

I love the poem, Connie. Fun instances in real life do create a spark to write about them. Thoroughly enjoyable. You took a super photo, too. I always take my camera with me just in case I see something interesting. Marilyn

Ha, ha, this one made me smile, I guess seagulls can be just as grumpy and just as possessive as we can be. Maybe he ate a bad bit of fish and his tummy was rumbling...yet time to get out of there. Nice!

No need for policemen here. The warning of excrement on your car will keep all cars moving. This is a nice witty personification of the gull.

Keep writing

Love your poem about the seagull. I have a few seagull poems in my portfolio, they are quite the inspiration. Your words show the seagull as a strong character who lays down the law, not a place to park, a fine will be imposed. You tell a tale in your poem.

So when I want to be left alone I just need to have the ability to poop on their cars. Huh, now I know. Another reason to want to be a bird sometimes. I love how this little seagull inspired this.

Honestly, at one point, that seagull stared right at me. I think we had a moment!!

It's still chilly here. If it gets to 55 or 60 degrees the wind chill brings it back down. LOL. It's March. Windy as ususal.

I love the picture and love that you wrote a poem about it:)

I love that you gave him the job of keeping everyone in line about the sign otherwise he'll mess up your windows:) Very humorous.

A very well-written fun and humorous poem. Great imagery of what the seagull could have said to you to go find another place to park. He seems to be the owner of that sign.

Well, thing is, there are times when we humans pick up on the wave lengths of non human creatures. I have done it myself and found it a strangely moving experience.
That seagull might have been having a really rotten day with no fish for brekkie, been told off by the missus for not repairing the nest and next door's fledglings learning to fly before his. THEN!! Along comes a car load of tourists ! No food, no picnic scraps, no nuthin'. So scram or I'll poo all over your shiny automobile. This is NOT a good day, so go and find another sign to sit on . This one's mine. "Bye.
cheers Cass
