Gross! I'm not a bee person. We actually sell bees where I work. They are available from like January to the end of February and they come in in like May or April or something. You get 10,000 bees and one queen for like $150. It's a thing. Not a thing for me but I'm sure for someone. (Yes, we sell a lot of them)

Well, thank you, thank, you, thank you, for selling a lot of bees and a queen for $150. Farmers are in desperate need for them. Thank you for your review, too.

Isn't it amazing where we draw inspiration from, Sis? This is a lovely haiku and thank you for your interesting notes, too. I am reminded of a small mouse that ran into my porch as I sat reading, laid on its side, and the light of life gradually faded from its bright eye. Thank you for writing this.

Yes, Alvina, it is amazing where we draw inspiration from. Ideas are literally at our feet. Inspiration drawn from the world around us is a far cry from the stereotype of the writer's blocked poet waiting for inspiration. Thank you for your generous, six star review.

Wow, Andre, you are so incredibly good at haiku! What marvelous alliteration in this one too - oftentimes poets tend to overuse alliteration, in my opinion, thereby ruining the beauty of it because it begins to sound forced, phony - not so in this case at all. It's masterful! I wish I had a six for this one - not something I will often award to a tiny poem, since I read a lot of prose. But this is exceptionally good!

Amazing what we see if we just slow down and look. Being with a pet also gives us a different perspective and point of view.
I enjoyed reading about the bee that you and Mina observed. Excellent topic for your haiku.
Well done.
Blessings

Yes, Janet, you would be amazed at the ideas that come to you if you just slow down. Walking a dog is a great tool for slowing down and noticing things from a different perspective. Thank you for your review.

Ah, poor little bee, no longer granted to be and buzz, so sad it dying on a porch, far away from its natural environment where it would have blossomed among the flowers and procreated. So important as bees are very important "beings", but threatened by pesticides and more.
Farewell sweet summer and little bee, but hope many of your family will survive and thrive !
Thanks for sharing this delightful haiku !

Thank you for reply and try to look on the bright side. There are "bee-farmers" (cultivators) to replenish the bee-family and set free into the environment for obvious, very good reasons. Happy day, spring on its way, Susan

Although bees collect honey from flowers when I was about 2 years old, I found a bee that had been stepped on a footpath, and I picked it up to rescue it, and it stung me on the hand. From that day forward, I've been terrified of bees. Give me a 15-ft. crocodile any day over a bee. Your poem was I think was fitting for the bee.
All the best...

Our pets are often inspiration for us, aren't they?
I love the way this poem heralds in the chilly days of winter.
And to use your experience with the bee was a great touch.
Take care,
Rhonda

That was sad for the bee, But like everything in life we live and then die. Seeing something can always gives ideas for something else, it's what we do. It was nice that you wrote a poem for a dying bee.

Yes, Annie, I am thrilled and humbled that I wrote my poem for a dying bee. When my dog stopped to sniff it, I began to compose this haiku. Thank you for your review.

Hi Sis Cat thanks for sharing this well thought out haiku. To bee or not to Bee. Sadly for the bee his days were numbered, but your choice of words have given him a fond farewell from his floral fields.. Nicely scribed and a perfect image to compliment your thoughts. cheers mel xx
