I felt this was rather melancholy at first, Patty -
to have loved and lost perhaps - but then the
last stanza plus the note that the poem was for
your hubby, made me think otherwise -

Hi - this is a lovely poem for your husband. Good monorhyme followed by abab rhyme. Both forms flow well, both in rhyme and rhythm. The content is romantic and loving. Tiny typo in your penultimate line. 'til' - add an L, otherwise all well written and a very nice read. Warm regards Dorothy
