I have to say that I for one look forward to these pieces because I do not understand a lot of politics and lay my faith in your hands to talk to me. Unlike others, I am very appreciative.

During Donald Trump's speech before Congress, I wondered how he plans to achieve all the things he's proposing (build that wall, increased military spending, infrastructure spending, etc.) without a tax increase. Building the wall, for instance, he'll run into problems of acquiring and paying for private land. That won't be cheap! I do believe the military needs to be built up, so I can see more spending justified there. We'll have to see if he's able to achieve enough cuts in the budget so that the national debt doesn't increase, instead of decrease. There are always unforeseen things that come up that require more government expenditure. We'll have to see how he manages all the plans he mentioned without an increase in the budget. judi

Brett your book is going to be a potential best seller in some people's eyes or a table leveller in others. For every argument for trump's new policies and promises.
A budget deficit of 500 billion? wow is that a misprint? That's astronomical
Will that EVER be recovered? Where is the money coming from if he is to reduce taxes but at the same time going to build new and repair existing major infrastructure?
Just digressing Brett, in a world where technology is changing as quick as your debt clock in both computer and automation of manufacturing with automated machines that negate the work of 100 s of workers on the floor so to speak in what role are all these new in hose jobs going to take?
Unskilled factory workers and even those skilled in technology cannot compete against automated robot technology as seen in major manufacturing plants such as the automobile industry. They can virtually build a car on a production line where a human hand never touches that production or manufacture from woe to go. American workforce is a huge part of your country as you know. Its all right saying that new jobs will be created with the building of bridges, overpasses., underpasses, freeways etc but just how many can slot into this skilled field of work.
The major manufacturing companies that are left in America that haven't taken their major part of their production overseas because of cheap labor and manufacturing costs is diminishing to say the least/ So where is Americas expertise maybe silicon valley in IT but there are only so many who can be employed by Microsoft, Apple , Google and Facebook.
Yep it certainly is going to a very good skill in magicianship by your president
AS I HAVE ALWAYS SAID TO YOU..time will tell

Enjoy your writes

A very well-written editorial. Of course who will feed the neighbor when your own family goes to bed hungry. That makes perfect sense to me.

Border security, law enforcement, Social Security, Medicare, and programs for American veterans would remain untouched. He also insists on achieving a huge tax cut.. (I saw the opposite on the internet. That he was cutting Social Security and medicaid. I will be due for that in 10 years, I worked my whole life and contributed. I hope this doesn't get cut.)

Hard to tell exactly what will happen.

But, since the Democrats could actually block Trump's budget, I foresee a real dogfight over it.
